  1. All you need is a cheap noodle rod ($70 Shimano Convergence) it will make a world of difference when trying to make drifts... Centerpin setups are awesome and I'd never go to the river without mine, but they can be a steep investment for the guy that only wants to go out a few times a year for steelies.
  2. You are going to have a real tough time with a rod that short...
  3. Lots of guys do just fine with a spinning reel.
  4. Or Russian dudes in the background chasing after them?
  5. I wouldn't get to excited about top water steelhead
  6. /furiously ties monster bags. Nice report Mikey!
  7. You rod isn't going to be 'bouncy' when you are drifting, lol.. I use whatever float I need to in order to get the bait down and get it down quick. If you are fishing big, fast water you need a big float and lots of shot.. The only ratings they should put on float rods are the line ratings
  8. That guy drives me insane.. He talks to his guests like they are children. Nothing but a 30min commercial.
  9. Panther Martins spins with almost no force at all. I love them in small streams.. No need to reel 100mph to get the blade to spin.
  10. Just a wild guess. No chrome, very yellow belly, bigger spots, not very fat.. etc etc. Gorgeous fish, I love those brownies.
  11. Well you need to make sure your sole is thick enough that you won't puncture them Most felt soled wading boots can take these without issue.
  12. Nice brown, that looks like a resident fish.
  13. What's the line look like? If it's not curled up, it's most likely snapping and not coming undone.. I have no issues tying a palomar in the middle of a river, quicker then a clinch for me.. The Davy knot looks awesome, I'll try that out on Wednesday.
  14. Is there anything in that canal that's of any value? Right now it's like shooting fish in a barrel, they should take advantage of the situation now and kill everything in there..
  15. Man, they need to nuke that entire canal...
  16. I already posted this... The shortest sheet metal screws you can find at crappy tire.
  17. With flouro? 6-7times.. Also use an improved clinch if you have to tie a clinch knot.
  18. Yup, just gotta take it easy on these fish when you get them hooked. Let them play out in the current all they want, you can't horse these things... If I can, I like tying a palomar knot.
  19. You also get taller and taller as the day goes by!!!
  20. sheet metal screws work great and they are cheap. Unless you wanna spend $20 on the Simms wading boot studs.
  21. Didn't a Walmart shut down in Arizona recently?
  22. Did someone say bong?
  23. Nice fish!! Water rarely ruins electronics... It's when you turn them on when still wet that does I dropped my SD780IS in the drink while on a trip to Mike cottage.. a bowl of rice and 4 days later I was back in action.
  24. These are fish Don't think to hard about it... How much light do you think penetrates into the water during the day time, especially if it's a bit dirty? Fish have no problem chasing bait/eating roe bags at night...
  25. I've been told I'm sexy, it's ok man...
