  1. I am hoping to have a day like that this summer with the trip up to Attawapiskat... One day I'll get myself a char....one day!
  2. Drew, it's all about the brookies man!
  3. I dunno about a terrorist organization, but they are a bunch of nutjobs.
  4. Leave the skein and the rest of the nastiness on... In the winter every little bit helps.
  5. lol! I'm a master of something, but it's not the pin Right now I use 8lb Drennan Super Mono... I've just recently started to use a swivel above the float and it's drastically cut down on my line twist. I can safely say that after the first time I put one on, my line twist all but disappeared.. After the first couple of fish were landed, my worries about another point of failure disappeared... Just gotta make sure you figure out the depths you'll be fishing that day and leave enough length between your first swivel and second swivel accordingly... However twist will surface when you are fishing the larger rivers (Saugeen, Catt, Genny) where you actually have to make long distance casts. I know I should learn the Wallis casts, and I am but my buddy Dave does a weird sidecast/wallis combo and it works out well for him.. I've been trying that with a bit of success... I'm not a huge fan of the floating line, they usually turn to wire in the cold weather and are a huge pain in the ass (again if you are making big casts, the ditches out east don't count, lol)
  6. Trust me, if you are standing in water freezing your ass off all day not moving much neoprene is the way to go.. I have great boots, awesome socks and good quality waders and my feet still freeze in the winter. I took Mike's advice and ordered a pair of cheap neo's for the winter.. I'll leave the breathables for when I'm hiking/warmer weather.
  7. Make sure you ask for the tax on top of the value they offered... Every little bit helps. My parents '06 Jetta TDI was totaled.. It had 56K on it I think, they got 22K + tax as the buyout.
  8. The last time I did a cure on mature eggs using brown sugar/pickling salt I left the eggs in for maybe 2hrs at the most.. Turned out perfectly.
  9. Increases friction, gives the goalie more traction when he's off his skates
  10. Nipigon brookies.
  11. Trilene XT is great... I've used 8lb before without issue. Alot of new guys to the game like using the floating line, I know I did. It's a bit harder to cast and isn't the greatest in the dead of winter, but it really does help you keep the slack out of your line etc... I'd just spool it up with cheap stuff, get used to the rig then maybe start experimenting.. One thing at a time!
  12. Fidel's lipstick probably rubbed off on the poor thing.
  13. Probably the best yet.. Personal PB walleye, brookie.. Massive amounts of steelhead, etc etc.
  14. I'd kill for one of these.
  15. hahaha!! Raptorfan, do yourself a favour and put a swivel above your float. Until you learn the Wallis, this will greatly cut down on the amount of line twist you'll get... And trust me...you'll get tonnes with the side cast
  16. Lapse of judgment there, I'm usually really good with that stuff, lol.
  17. Not anymore, my bad.
  18. .....
  19. It does man, I have been looking forward to fishing that river for a long time.. I'm sure tomorrow will more then make up for it though.
  20. John, I hope we get to share a few drifts in the near future.. Anytime on the water with Mike is an absolute riot, fish or no fish.
  21. Oh trust me, this one is going to sting for a while.
  22. Oh boy, this weekend is going to be fun I'm still pissed I made the wrong call!!!!!!!!!!
  23. I assume it's the normal channel, not the HD one? I have Deadliest Catch on right now.
  24. I think people lose more fish due to the fact that they have to manipulate the drag themselves on a pin.. I just get lazy and flick the drag on
  25. Paul, you forgot using pin also makes you look like a superstar.
