  1. Wayne, the only thing I'm doing with that boat is help Mike load it with fish
  2. No distinction between panfish and sport fish in the regs.
  3. I'm so jealous of you guys that can bring your catch home to eat! That looks goooood!
  4. Perch are a sportfish, they're in the regs.
  5. Nah, a long spinning setup would work just fine out there. No need to get fancy with anything.
  6. If you want trout, drive to the Salmon River, hire a guide and catch steelhead until your heart's content.
  7. I'd definitely have a rope around my wrist if I was using that thing. I could easily see me trying to be Hercules and it ending up at the bottom of lake Simcoe, lol.
  8. Did you upgrade the motor package? That's one thing I noticed when we started to look for a new boat. Lots of features, great price, but extremely underpowered in the standard package. We ended up with a used Lund, couldn't be happier.
  9. Spend time on the lake, you'll eventually figure it out. People can tell you all kinds of things, nothing beats time on the water.
  10. Used my Humminbird 788ci out on the ice today for the first time, whoa baby, I love high resolution screens for ice fishing, lol. Even picked up the ice on the line
  11. That GLX prototype is slick, Ferg is going to LOVE that rod!!! I'll make sure to steal it from him for a few drifts I'm looking forward to Mike's review of the new 2pc 13' CTS.
  12. A 16' tiller is fine out on Lake O, just watch the wind and pick your days carefully. That's all we ever fished out of when I was a kid, 16ft Smokercraft with a 25hp 2 stroke Johnson.. Never an issue.
  13. Simcoe is another place where I've heard guys have good success stirring up the bottom. Going to put some time in on that lake this year for bass and lakers.
  14. Roy, that's what I've read so who really knows My best bait for them has been a silver/blue with orange belly husky jerk! (The big one)
  15. The stove idea sounds awesome. Easy to carry, gets super hot... Might have to pack one the next time I take the sled into a back lake!
  16. It's got nothing to do with snowmobilers, it's got to do with leaving debris in the lake once the ice melts. It's pollution plain and simple, even if you think it's just a piece of wood.
  17. Biggest thing with lakers is finding the thermocline.. You want a water temp of between 48-52.. they'll be patrolling just above it. Early season is the easiest, top 15ft of the water column... Lake trout are notorious followers, they'll follow lures for miles if you let them. Make sure you speed up, slow down, zig-zag, whatever to get them to bite.
  18. I wanna get out for whities and lakers! I don't mind the break at all
  19. I bet someone has been telling this story.... 'I lost this 20lb steelhead lastweek while using a firetiger Rapala!!!! At least 20lbs I swear!!'
  20. I've noticed a lot of the saltwater Rapalas have metal lips. At least the ones in my tacklebox do.
  21. Let's hope they turn it around tonight!
  22. I don't make the rules, ask your local CO.
  23. I wonder how many of these threads we'll have this year. This has gotta be what? #4 or #5? lol
