A little 3.5in pin would be great out there.. I'd just make sure it's got a strong clicker so you don't have to hold onto it all the time. Or you could always use an elastic.

LOL!!! Yeah that happened to me today as well.. I'd have my bait suspended 15ft or so above bottom and thought HOLY CRAP HERE IT COMES!! Then I look over and some guy has his flasher 50ft from me, lol. I had a fish today rocket up from 120ft to hit 20ft below the hole. As soon as I dropped it down the hole, he came flying off the bottom.. It's too bad he was about 3 lbs!

Dude that sucks! Especially when 95% of those fish come on the chase.. I hate fishing blind, especially in 120ft of water with a wicked current, lol.

Any chance one of your buddies was fishing out of a Clam? (Not flip over) I heard the name 'Mike' mentioned a few times, was wondering if it was you, lol.

For that kind of money I'd shop stateside. You'll get 3 times the boat for the same price. You'd be silly to drop 30k on a Smokercraft when you could get a absolutely loaded Lund for the same price in the US.

Those 4 guys south of me were running all over the place, lol! I got 3 small lakers, nothing to write home about.. I wanted to stay deeper then everyone else, but everytime I iced a fish, I seemed to get more and more company.. Finally pulled up and went a bit east of you guys to finish the day.. WAY too many guys out there for my liking.. I think I'll be fishing steelhead tomorrow.

Fished Lake O and Lake E in a tinny for pretty much my entire childhood (16ft Smokercraft with a 25hp Johnson) No issues at all, just gotta pick your days.

From a boat you definitely want something longer then shorter. I can't imagine trying to punch out big flies with my 7'6 5wt with any sort of distance, lol. It's fine for the smaller resident trout streams however.

If you are going to fish Elk, fish upstream. It was an absolute bust there yesterday.. I'd also check out a few of the Ohio tribs, especially the Conneaut. That river is awesome.

You'll want something longer for punching out those big bass baits.. A 8'6 7wt is going to be quite meaty.

Not to be rude, but fishing is a past time... You should be out pounding the pavement looking for a job if funds are that thin, not out on the lake wondering if you're buddy will give you $20 so you can get out on the lake the next day. Priorities man...

We'll be slamming the lakers and whities!!!!............................................in the spring.
