  1. Salmon gear isn't very complicated. Probably why the Daiwa Sealines haven't changed much since the early 80's. I run a pair of Okuma Convectors on my dipsy setups as well, no complaints.. However, I don't beat on them I do my other fishing gear.
  2. Investing in a guiding service is never a bad idea. Along with putting you on fish, he'll definitely teach you what to look for. Biggest thing I was shown (Thanks Mike!) was how to read water properly and break it down. Once you can do that, the river itself really doesn't matter.
  3. I'm just comparing this game to a few of his previous ones. I wouldn't feel bad at all if he was sent back down to the Marlies.
  4. Everyone played a good game tonight, even Ranger! Clarkson definitely made a big impact tonight. He seemed to get everyone else hitting as well. Reminded me of the old Leafs there for a little while! Great game.
  5. Anytime the Leafs got a bit of momentum lastnight, they'd take a penalty (or a bad one would be called) and they'd have to start all over again. Credit goes to the Blue Jackets, they played a pretty good game. That short handed goal was the killer however (Bernier should have had that one) Another failed clearing attempt by Ranger lead to a goal, let's hope Carlyle is noticing this as well!
  6. Baits are probably the last thing I worry about when I'm trying to pattern out a species of fish for the day. You could be tossing the perfect lure, but if the fish isn't there to eat it, you won't get bit.
  7. Deepest condolences man
  8. Should have rigged up one of those perch for Mr.Pike that was hanging around
  9. You remember that old Snickers commercial? LOL!!!!!
  10. Yup, 2 pairs of waders is a must. You'll always get leaks, nice to have some warm backups.
  11. Yeah, they aren't exactly cheap to replace!
  12. That's not a very portable unit (I've got the same one) I don't think it would be very good out on the ice. That 747c you see in my pic does double duty for me. In the boat it's attached to the US2 on my Terrova on the bow, in the winter it goes into the portable pack for me to use on the ice. You can pick up that unit pretty cheap.
  13. Hopefully McLaren brings a little bit of the toughness back we saw early in the season.
  14. No worries, good luck on your search!
  15. Minn Kota.. If you don't have the I-Pilot, having a nice long cord on the foot pedal is worth it. Plus when it's windy and the front of that boat is bouncing up and down, you want the extra length.
  16. At least you admit you troll the crap out of this thread.
  17. I'm pretty sure they stock Simcoe every 2 years with both lakers and whities. I've read a few articles where it said they wanted to reduce the number of fish stocked in order for a self sustaining population to take over, but no mention of stopping stocking completely.
  18. I always check the date codes on the tires I'm buying... Every single tire has it clearly marked.
  19. I'm pretty sure they do.
  20. I'd like Fraser and McLaren back please!
  21. My FA has shown me just under a 10% return the last few years. I'm not complaining.
  22. Mr lake trout I see you being sneaky on the bottom!!! Graph for me over a flasher any day of the week.
  23. I was going to say, nothing in Barrie except for a light dusting.. OP's pics look like frost not snow, lol!
  24. HAHHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
