    Lakers won't be that shallow (2ft of water), but they'll be way up high in the water column.. For lakers I'd look for spots 6-20ft, at this time of year you can sight fish them as well. If you're trolling, long leads and body baits or small spoons..

    I would think a lot less then 15-18ft... More like 6ft or less... Spinners tipped with worms, small body baits, shad raps, etc.

    I've never targeted them, but I'd be fishing them just like brook trout. Extremely shallow in the spring until the temps get up there.

    That boat with full windshield is going to be absolutely tiny inside. If that's the length you're looking at, either side console or tiller... Also, we fished Lake O for years in a 16ft Starcraft tiller, you just need to keep an eye on the weather... Same goes with GBay...

    There's no reason for gas to go 'bad' in the 6months you had it in the tank. I'm guessing you've either got a very bad leak in the system or got a batch of bad gas.

    If it's right after ice out and there is no thermocline established, jigging is a killer to get fish.... It's a tough gig when they lakers are in the top 15ft feeding on baitfish however.

    Get a fishing boat, I tow me nieces and nephews around on the tube behind the Lund all the time, they have a blast. No need to compromise a boat for a use it will see what, 5% of the time?

    It's a 'Light' 12 for sure, just trying to nail down the year, although 1957 is looking about right.

    Pete, A5 started in 1905 and went through till 1975. Belgium made guns stopped being produced at the start of WWII (It was actually made by FN). I'd be interested to see a pic of the butt stock and the serial number. If you could post that up we could easily date it for you. Serial should be located on the bottom of the receiver.

    I'm guessing the 12g is a Browning A5 ie the 'humpback'.. Not worth a million bucks, but if it's in good condition and depending on the date stamp you could probably get 500-600 for it. One of the softest shooting 12g ever made. I've got one and use it all the time, absolutely love that gun.

    I'm guessing bad gas vs ethanol based gas... I put the boat away in Dec, and had zero issues this spring, maybe had half a tank in it when it went to sleep in the garage. I don't even think I treated the remaining before the winter either. Ethanol is crap, but some people go way overboard on how much it will mess your stuff up. A good guess is that his system isn't sealed properly and somehow water got in there.

    I'm guessing that fly was made over seas like the rest of his are I try and not to lose those!
