  1. With all this rain you better get out there to pick up the stragglers or else they'll be long gone. Don't wait around for internet reports.
  2. This thread really makes me want to get back down to Clearwater for some salt water action.
  3. I find that when things start to cool off the in the fall the fish will move shallower (Especially those big snakes).. I catch bass on topwater right until the end of Oct/start of Nov if the weather is decent.
  4. It is! Here's their website. I run both types (feather and without) and they both work great. All kinds of other stuff on them as well as you can imagine. http://www.docsgoofyjigs.com/Pages/default.aspx
  5. Those two 'fangs' they have would leave you with a few holes in your fingers that's for sure. When I'm down there I use Docs Goofy jigs and half a shrimp. Bomb it out there and rip it back as fast as I can. Lots and lots of fun.
  6. We haven't even mentioned yet that brook trout is actually a char and not a trout at all, lol I've heard of some of those monster sea run browns they get on the east coast (Mostly caught in the middle of the night if I'm not mistaken).. That sounds like a fun little fishery.
  7. No.. Sea trout is a sea trout. It's a warm water salt water species.. It shares it's name with the fresh water speckled trout (or brook trout) but is in a completely different family and not related at all. Only thing similar is the name.
  8. They shouldn't be... Brown trout are brown trout, speckled trout are speckled trout (or otherwise known as brook trout)
  9. No, completely different. Sea trout is a salt water fish, also in a completely different family. To make things even more confusing they called sea trout 'speckled trout' as well. Always gets a laugh out of me when I'm fishing down in Florida.
  10. If this was a pike, no one would care at all. Food for thought.
  11. I dunno, I've had some banner days out on the water with jetskis and boats zipping around.
  12. Justin in order to use that Canon app (EOS Remote), you'd need to setup your smartphone as a wifi hotspot... Canon EOS remote only works over wifi for remote camera control.
  13. Nice fish! Heading up that way Sunday, hopefully the weather is decent.
  14. Mike, every single one of your threads makes me jealous! Awesome trip with the oldman!
  15. Would be nice, but the cloud cover is crazy tonight. I was going to drive up to the Parry Sound area so I could get some good clean black sky looking north but the cloud cover would make that just a huge waste of time.
  16. Look into your crystal ball and tell us!
  17. You didn't stand a chance, lol!! Good luck and let us know what you ended up with.
  18. That was awesome. Also, I forgot about the time we came back from that back lake in Algonquin in those giant waves Lifejacket was definitely on for that little ride.
  19. You bass boat guys are nuts. If I was hauling ass across the lake at 70mph, I'd have mine on as well, lol!
  20. I didn't want to hijack the PFD thread, but I thought a few of the responses were interesting. I never wear one, unless the conditions call for it. I can count on one hand the number of times I've ever had one on. I'm just not one to put myself in a situation where it will ever be needed (ie the guy in the 9ft dingy out 5 miles on Simcoe jigging in 3ft rollers).. The last time I had one on was a few years ago on Lake Nipigon, before that Lake Superior many years ago. I know I'm not alone as 95% of the people I see out on the water aren't wearing them either I'm sure this is going to turn into a crap fest but I'd at least like to see a few reasons from the other guys that spend a lot of time on the water.
  21. Sorry for your loss Matt, my condolences bud

Nice Dan! Here's an old boy I got a pic of earlier in the summer. He didn't care much at all about the boat being close [url=https://flic.kr/p/nW9R5L]
  23. if you want to run a dipsy you'll need a pretty stout setup (unless you run the super small ones, but then you'll need to let out way too much line to get down to 60ft). Personally I'd vertical jig them.
