  1. Who said you were an idiot? I don't think anyone did. You've got some really experienced guys here, some have spent 20-30 years on the river. You'd be wise to listen to them. I also call it like it is, maybe a bit to blunt for some people but that's not my problem. I'm not one to sugar coat anything.
  2. Your're 14, you think you know everything, lol. I hope these hooks work out for you, but you can't be surprised when someone second guesses 1000 hooks for $5.
  3. I would think that thing would go forever on 1.5L of fuel. Unless you're winding it out the entire time?
  4. He'll feel stupid when he breaks off a big fish because of a bad hook. But that's a apart of growing up. I know i didn't listen when I was that age, made some mistakes and learned from them. It's called growing up. No need for the hand holding.
  5. Get a bunch of marshmellows and treble hooks on the back window, that would be awesome
  6. You gotta keep that lens clean man, those water droplets are very distracting. I'd suggest having an air dust blower and some microfibre lens cleaning towels on hand before you start filming. That's a very nice coloured up buck!
  7. Some of them were small 'ticks' as you let the spoon/whatever back down. Some were downright crazy, super hard hits then 100yrds of line gone from the reel in seconds Half of these fish had no idea they were hooked until they got to the surface, then all hell broke loose.
  8. Nope, nothing complicated. Jigging spoons and jigheads with an assortment of different coloured swammers. No live bait or anything like that. These fish weren't picky.
  9. Minnow spinnerbait? You sure you don't mean a inline spinner with one of those plastic minnows on the end of the hook? Spinners and spoons are killer for steelhead.
  10. Couldn't ignore the weatherman... Stable weather for the past few days, a season about to close and one of my fav fish to chase. Hit the water in a thick thick fog, got worse the closer we got to our destination. I don't like riding the GPS but you couldn't see 50yrds in front of the boat this morning. So the nav lights were turned on and we made out way out to spot #1 at a slower than normal pace. Immediately the the graph was lit up, fish all over the place. Found a nice hump out of deep water, my buddy Doug dropped down and a few mins later I was greeted with this. First fish of the day was a fat chunky laker. After that it was non-stop.....We were out there laughing like schoolgirls. Doug would get one on I'd scream out ITS TIME FOR DOUBLE DOUBLE! and WHAM! Fish on! I can't count the number of double headers we had, 8? 9? I dunno.. I also don't want to count the number of fish we missed, lol. The nice thing was the average size, a good 6-8lbs with a few teeners thrown in and a few TANKS!!! Doug with a cow! I got into the action myself (After losing I think my first 4 fish? Swapped that hook out with the quickness!) Huge guts on some of these fish. The runs they were making were crazy... We'd get them up to the boat and back down they'd go.. This would happen 3-4 times... Reels were screaming today! Bluebird skies? Didn't matter the big ones kept on coming. What a day, some of the best laker fishing I've had since the spring on the southern shore of Lake O. I think my buddy Doug upped his PB a few times today... We didn't take any measurements but a few were pushing the 20lb mark some them were so thick across the back. , all on 7.5ft ML spinning setups, 1000 series reels with 6lb braid, no need for the meat sticks! Some of the runs these fish made were just insane, super hard hits and just screaming.. We had to chase two of them with the trolling motor because they just weren't stopping.
  11. Yup, I've seen some pretty cool colour combos out there Kite string is also another cheaper alternative to Dacron.
  12. THC can stay in your blood for weeks. Even if the kid smoked a joint the night before, I'd hardly consider that being 'under the influence' 24hrs later. The reason the kid is dead is because he got out of a perfectly safe race car, that was a bad bad decision.
  13. Yup, I use those same 150yrd spools. I usually use 12-15lb mono for backing then dacron or something else if I've gotta fill a really deep spool. (Both the spools on my Frogwater and Demarco aren't super deep for just mono works fine)
  14. ESPN? You mean the Fox News of the sports world? I give them as much clout as I'd give you Matt when it comes to hockey (aka none )
  15. Might as well just burn the garage down, I think that's the only answer here.
  16. Measure it next time and you'll know for sure
  17. I'd never buy a Tracker after the horror stories and crap warranty service a lot of people received. No way.
  18. That motor is older then 2002... Simple Google image search confirms that. Looks like a 1998-99 motor from what I can tell. I think the cowel changed to the more aero ones in 2000.
  19. Maybe 6-7lbs? It doesn't seem overly girthy.
  20. So Canadians fishing on the US side are good with our PCOC.
