  3. Funny we were just talkin bout Calendonia the other day---Ya know when I was a kid--that weir in the picture was not there and I used to sit and fish on the bottom pads of that railway tressle in the holes around them--need scuba gear now. Cool Pic Bushart
  4. Real Good Leechman I was out for a bit today and just got a couple gators and a few perch--no willy's Bushart
  5. Thanks Dawg---ya know if you had our beer prices you'd be blue also Bushart
  6. This past summer I met member Gerritt and in discussion I had mentioned that the 1st place my Dad took me fishin was Calendonia back in the 60's I recalled a mill there and he indicated that it was still there. When I took on a new project I thought--why not---it was definetely a big part of my life. So on Misfish' advice--I checked the expiry on my artistic licence and set forth I have'nt seen the mill or river in many years so an exact likeness on my memory would have been not really close---so I went with the feeling of the day. Man life was alot simpler then. My Father passed away in 72 but I took what he taught me and spent that same quality time with my kids. Short of a few highlites this is pretty much done Bushart
  7. Tellin ya man it's all about the priorities The very 1st time I met my wife some 25 years ago---about 10 minutes into our 1st conversation I asked if she liked to fish. (Pretty bad eh?---most players would take another angle) Anyway she said yes and I said great I'll pick you up at 7 tomorrow morn and we'll go. (I now give her heck for headin down some creek with a complete stranger---I tell her how'd you know I was'nt a nut) Anyway 2 kids and 25 years later---kids now away in university and it's her and I gone fishin. Much like the Dawg though---she likes the nice warm days now--so I do get gone on my own some times. Good Luck
  8. I'm a successful walleye angler and your question is too broad If you believe that it'll always work if someone says yep in July you drag reef runners 12 feet down in colour purple at 1.5 mph your going home disaapointed most days. My advice to you on this fishing website is to learn the seasonal movements of walleyes. Learn the forage type on the lake you fish Learn the lake's structure bases Learn what a walleye looks like on your screen (Finder) You'll catch these Bushart
  9. OK we're working on my grey haired old memory here.. I used to be able to wade around on those tribs (Like Bronte) and fish the holes tossin spinners and catch smallies Won't look like the one you caught but you could get a look at some trout or salmon as well. Far as shore fishin a lake---may be very hit and miss---Trent system may be an option I do know the bigger smallies are workin their way deeper here soon. (But don't tell anybody) Bushart
  10. Here's a thought..... 10 million potential licencee's--------2 million obtained=8 million not gots Say half or even 1/4 go ahead and fish without licence---still leaves bout 4 million dudes sittin at home on da couch cause they aint legal. Whats it all mean-------Ya Baby way more fish and room on the water for this cowboy Creeks and wading rivers may be a bit busier though
  11. Seriously though I got mine this summer knowing the deadline was Sept. 15 and the best fishin of the year always happens after that date. Admiral Bushguy
  12. Looks good Rickster Ya need to set up and shoot the buck that's gonna kick that fella's butt ya have in the pic---I know you've got some nice deer up your way. Bushart
  13. I'm offishilly a captain Ya'll can call me Commodore Bushart Funny thing is though I now have a thirst for Rum and an eye for wenches AAARGH!!!
  14. OK Leechman here's the story------you went to hit the brakes and instead you hit the gas... crap happens....a couple of beers from now you guys will be laff'n bout this... Anybody here that has never had a mishap is a (Non teller of truths) Hope the car dries out soon man----just be thankful it was'nt a Ford Bushart
  15. I need to figure out how to run my paintin portfolio on my avatar like a powerpt prez I think I need to change it soon though Bushart
  16. All good points but watch yourself round here if the Leafs miss the playoffs again Bushart
  17. Why don't you grow up and go looking to pick fights somewhere else.
  18. Well at 49 years of age I too have a skillset of life experiences and what I have learned is to gather credible facts and weigh them for myself and then form my own opinion. To state this is led by younger people is not the case. How can one explain the "ACCELERATED" rate of decline within the last 100 or so years, or if you wish---the industrial revolution. Look at "Troutologist"---he is that close to the fire he can touch it----Is he not to believe what he see's with his own eyes? How about some of the interviews with the Inuit that cannot figure what has happened or how they will deal with it. Ask yourself why species of squid that have always stayed in southern climes are now being caught off the BC coast. This is not just a North American issue----leading experts worldwide agree this is happening---one cannot say they all have the same financially driven motives. Now to run around with the sky falling call is also non-productive----it achieves nothing---every journey starts with a single step and as I stated prior--I do what I can--when I can---there will always be more, but I take solice in the fact that I at least try. If nothing else maybe now we'll find the remainder of the Franklin Expedition.
  19. Well the sky is not falling...agreed Anybody here an expert......nope This I do know for 100% certainty----take a hot summer day and travel down Clappisons Corners hill in Southern Ontario and view the nice skyline-----yep air colourized for your breathing enjoyment---not sure but I believe air is not normally brown and yellow. What does it mean---being most have taken a stand of complacency---not much today right? we all still eat, sleep and have sex. But growing up in The truth north strong and free was that we had all the clean air and water, more so than most other countries and yet today I can walk in some cities in Canada in the summer and there appears to be more and more masked people--one can assume having difficulty processing the chemical laden air. So I do not believe we are heading in the right direction--and yes I do what I can even though there will always be more. But to say there is no issue here and just throw up the hands is to defeatest an attitude for this angler. Bushart
  20. You know I ignored the first shot you took but you could'nt leave it alone could you? You remind me of one of those monkeys in the zoo that throw crap at passerbys looking for attention
  21. I think that Scholar George W. even finally admitted to this issue. I normally don't post paintings I've done in thread replies...this time it fits I painted this after learning of the polar bear plight----Story behind is---I drown the mother bear and had the cub using it for a life-raft Maybe a tad hokey but I'm not stopping other artists painting the beauty of a coal-fired generator at sunset either.
  22. Maybe we need a cyber rolled up newspaper to train that dawg to play nice or how bout a cyber invisible fence to keep the dawg from chasin bass tournament guys who make a huge wake whilst he anglin at that dam in which he resides. Peace dawg
