Brookie spots!! thinking of spring lets see em!
bushart replied to Rustic-Fisher's topic in General Discussion
Man you guys are killin me.....beauty spots with the best fish in all the world. That shot from the Sault area----man, having lived there some time ago I do know that is one of the prettiest areas in Canada---From Sault north to wawa When I was younger I used to live to walk those streams Now all's I can add is this done a while ago----sniff, sniff -
Well I know who took this from me..and so dismissing the myth that all artists are without backbone I went to the retailers website and wrote their customer service a letter laying out the obvious..and reminding them that If I went into their store and shoplifted a 30 dollar item they would immediately have me arrested---so it appears they have stolen the same amount from me so maybe I should have the police arrest the store representative. There does not exist any agreement that I would loan said retailer any $$ figure for any amount of time. Quite often we as Canadians are pasted with the complacency tag----tired of that one. Makes for great press

If I did'nt have all the paperwork I could understand. It's like electronic monkey in the middle and guess who's the monkey---it's not like I gave any conditions when I paid---yet I'm gettin lots back. This is boiling down to electronic pick pocketing.

Sure your thinkin an artists' rant what's that gonna be---"I Said Burnt Sienna Not Raw... Burnt!!!" Anyway this may help others out there so keep up. 2 weeks ago I made a purchase at a leading retailer (notCTC) and used my debit card. Anyway as has happened many times--I swiped and the machine timed out---so I swiped again---went through---and paintboy is off like a herd of turtles. Next day Mrs. Paintboy gets the bank book updated and bingo---2 withdrawals for same amount from this leading retailer. Now one would think this is easy huh....not so much------leading retailer says you have to go to your bank cause that interact cash gets sent to head office in Toronto--not the store. So off we go to our bank---now they have to call their head office and make a claim # and say should be 2-3 days. So after a week back I goes to said bank and they let me talk to head office who says... Leading retailers bank is different from mine so they have to investigate 1st and then send on cash---no later than March 18th. Now this equals 1 month from time of purchase....funny eh? You can get a mortgage for several hundred thousand $$$$ in a day and this impersonal pass the buck fiasco takes a month for 30 bucks. So my advice in closing here is do not trust this system and check when this garbage happens to you-----I wonder how many times this has happened to others and has been overlooked. Here Endeth Busharts' 1st Official Rant

Pure Little advice from a guy with many miles on the old carcass and achieved certain levels of success... 19 is now the time to think of career goals and formulate a plan to obtain them Dig for advice/assistance/aid anywhere you can---there are agencies out there---seek their help Going on a fishing board looking for anything looks very desperate--which is ok if it's only a means to your goal--ie; food/gas money to get you by. My advice is don't settle for the fork truck job for lifes' work----as you get older career changes get tougher---wife/kids/mortgage---then you can't afford to quit the forktruck noose around your neck. Be all you can be brother Bushart

Cliffs' thread got a few old timers (Me excepted) into sayinging how we have put time and effort into learning about fish and techniques... Well coming with that--I'm sure we've all done some lets say, less than Einsteinian things over the years... Here's a couple of mine (course there's more) 1/ Being a kid growing up in the North End of Hamilton----just dying to fish anywhere---1st ice out used to be in Spencer's Sewer --I mean creek in Dundas I used to ride my single speed bike out there like in March or early April and fish for suckers---being a kid--no arthritis---so friggin cold I could hardly move my fingers to thread a worm---that's kinda harmless 2/ This one's better---when I was 18 I took a job with "The Bay" and they posted me in Northern Saskatchewan---so I landed there a few days before my winter gear (with my boots)---this was like May and the ice was still on but snow mostly gone----so I heard you could catch Grayling (Something I had'nt done) in the Fond Du Lac river about 5 miles outta town----so genius decides to walk the slushy ice in running shoes to go fishin with a 20 dollar outfit I just bought at The bay---I did make it---caught zip---seen some though---decided to take a camp road back to town----got somewhat lost---made it out though---yep lots of thought went into that fishin trip where Dudley Greenhorn tours wolf country tryin to catch a fish. Next.... Bushart

Maybe info should go back to the barter system...cause I'm sure there's lots like me that have come home empty handed many times over the years by trying new spots or experimenting new techniques....time and $$$ invested to learn new things. Now hardly is fair that li'l Johnny wants the immediate gratification on the fishin websites so lurks for info without doin the time... So I can guarantee that unless your runnin in my inner circle---good spots or techniques are'nt free---so if I'm pony'n up info I need somethin back--info wise And contrary to popular belief ---I can't be bought off with beer---well...maybe---the good stuff though.
