WRONG..........you are WAY off the mark........perch are a much more threat to any small weedy lake environment to it's walleye population then crappies will ever be because right after the walleyes fry hatch the perch move in to spawn and EAT ! ! ! The terrible crappies you fear are now only filling the nich the walleyes once had already vacated for several other reasons, none being from over populated crappies.
  2. Stupid idea when other species may be thriving on said waters.......and do you close it to pleasure boaters also to help enforce poachers or are just anglers punished by this idea.

YES, you are correct........leave them all THERE..........there are many other VERY WEALTHY Arab countries to take these refuges in, so why are they heading here. BTW Obama already said that ISIS is contained, so then it's safe for them to stay there ! ! !
  6. Absolutely not. I guess none of you ever watched the movie "Fargo".......it's a dark comedy. A bit slow for the first 10-15 minutes but really a great movie and now there is a series that's even better on FX... Watch the movie and then try to condemn me if you like because it just a friendly saying after watching the movie with these people from Fargo, ND......they say "YA" a lot and "have nice day".... OK MARGIE(s) ! ! !

  9. Many outboards recommend 87 octane.......read your owners manual and you will be surprised what's in there. You can listen to your certified trained marine tech or Margie...............it's your choice.........

  12. A few times I was on crappie like a stink on a monkey when these characters showed up and seen me reeling in one after another. They started to crowd me too much and then started to cast exactly where I was casting with their funny looking bobbers and minnows. Only thing I was using hand tied bucktail white jigs that I make myself and I wasn't fishing that far down in the water column. They had their the stupid bobbers set to about 6' down in 7-8' of water.....I think my jig without bait and without a bobber was getting down 3-4' at best while I slow retrieved it back to the boat. I was HAMMERING them but because they were RUDE and not respectful I kept my big trap shut while the three of them occasionally caught a crappie all while I caught one on every cast. I am always more then happy to share fishing knowledge with guys but when their butt holes I don't.

The theory behind not having to fog a 4 stroker is because the internal engine parts are already coated / protected with crankcase oil while a 2 stroker is not............but depending on the engine this could be a false pretense because of piston ring blow-by with fuel washing down the cylinder walls and thus your engine in not getting the protection it needs and you think you are getting. Fogging a 4 stroke is still a good idea IMHO.......but do what you want because you are going to anyways....

  15. Do you have a compressor. If so you could just blow out the lines with compressed air. I have been doing this for many many years without any problems. And I always fog my outboard before I put it away for the winter.
  16. That boat and those three guys look very familiar. Are those three guys Asian and did it rain while you were fishing. I had them get very close to me and when it started to rain, one of the Asian guys pulled out a big golf umbrella......never seen that from a angler before. I started to laugh out loud at them while they just stared at me.

  20. The big difference between Canada stores and USA stores are the size and price....many of the USA store are huge and price is much lower.

  22. I agree, trim as much fat and silver skin as possible whenever it comes to venison. I stopped using any other meat to enhance the dryness of venison years ago. Instead any ground meat is now used in chili, meatballs or tacos where it will not be dry. All steak cuts are always boneless as is all venison cuts of meat....for a great venison steak that you cannot tell if it's venison or the best sirloin do the following: Take meat out of the fridge at least 1 hour before cooking to get it room temp Dry off any blood or moisture Light coat steak with Kosher Salt Med heavy coat steak with garlic POWER Med heavy coat steak with ground pepper (Coating means both sides of the meat) Cook in a frying pan with BUTTER and a couple drops of olive oil for 2 - 2.5 minutes on both sides depending on thickness. NEVER a second more.... The meat should be med rare at this point......if you want a well done piece of meat go to McDonalds I have heard, seen and tasted venison that was marinated and or cooked on the grill that was rough, tough and tasted like I don't know what. Venison is too lean to BBQ. For roasts wrap with pieces of bacon and cook to a internal temp (using a electronic probe) of 130 degrees and not a degree more. Discard the bacon and eat the venison. We usually let it cool overnight in the frig and then the wife takes it to work and slices it paper thin....we purchase beef broth in a can and heat that up and dip the slices in the hot broth and then place it on a hard roll. Best roast beef sandwich my sister (who wouldn't eat venison) ever, she said....LOL.....she's also had it in our chili too.....
  23. 3-4 years ago I hired a crew to take down a maple that was twice as large as that ash tree. The tree overhung my garage and I thought it would be a difficult job for anyone to not damage anything because no matter which way it fell it would do damage. I had 4 quotes and went with cheapest quote I got that was $300+ less then then the other 3 guys. They showed up at 9 am with 1 guy climbing, two guys on the ground plus the boss. Less then 2 hours later they were GONE and left me just the wood I pointed out that I wanted. Cost $650 out the door...... For that smaller ash tree I would get many more quotes and not pay a dime over 1k.....
