  2. used to fish Round lake a fair bit - I agree, its a tough go up that way sadly

  4. found this on the "spoonpullers website" dont think it has been posted here yet The ministry released 50k Lake Trout of the 11th pier at 3:00 p.m. They were hugging the shoreline well into the night. Needless to say the pier was packed with smelters. There must have been 60 cars parked, 6 generators, and every inch of per taken. The MNR made one trip to the pier at night to check buckets. Later in the night the Township of Oro was controlling traffic and warning everyone not to keep the Trout. Have you ever heard anything so stupid! " kind of a similar thing happened localy here this week, me & my partner were pulling the boat out at the ramp on Sat night & I commented on how many big minnows were in tight, upon further review theye were freshly stocked rainbows & salmon those netting bait or smelt in the coming weeks please take caution, as its stocking season
  5. thanks for the updates not sure if 'ill be able to get up to my trailer there before June but hopefully my late spring pattern will still be "on"

  7. Only dealt with West Marine once, but it was a good experience had the Buffalo store match & beat a competitors price AND order the Lowrance in for me since it was one they didnt carry in stock. I'll shop there again.

  11. as a 10 year old, I would be there each week using my allowance/paper route money to buy hooks & worms, been a loyal customer for many years very nice genuine guy - allways donating to various events/causes - he had just set his shop up in a bigger spot almost a year ago sincere condolences to Angela, Elizabeth & family Pete will sure be missed & remembered by many
  12. mmmmm frsh cats or bullheads from cool spring water - real good never had silver bass myself, have herd they are quite good as well

  15. I used to keep a list on my wall - had each reel on the list & beside each, read what kind of line, how much of it was on the spool, & the date it was spooled - pretty simple
  16. I own Walker Kingfisher manuals right now - when the time & money come along, I'll be getting Big Jon captains packs - have used them on a few boats & really like'em. Adjustable holders, tilt boom for ball retrival, ball holder, ect....
  17. sure do - the Kawarthas are a bass factory, no problem keeping a few each season when guests want a fresh fry i too prefer smallies over largies though
  18. through OFAH memeber ship I get OOD also to support my little cousins school fundraiser, ive given North American Fishing Club a shot... wont be renewing - I will be soon subscribing to Great Lakes Angler Magazine instead i'll buy other interesting issues of Esox ANgeler, Outdoor Canada, ect... too time to time I recently was given a coupla dozen 88-93 issues of Ontario Fisherman & OOD - pretty neat to read them old gems

I would like to have a mount or two done sometime down the road.... it wouldnt be for ego-boosting sake... and it wouldnt neccessarily have to be a record or a PB< but I think a fish or two (skin or replica) would like nice in the basement... still waiting for the "right" fish, not sure what it will be, but when i get it i'll know as of now I am thinking a nice brown trout & a beatifully barred smallie, but we'll see
  22. love it when an event like this is in my backyard - went in '05 & enjoyed myself unfortunately I have family commitments out of town this weekend - have fun everyone, its definetly worth attending
