ahhh that there could be my problem? i have a big 'ol "annalog" antenna on the side of my house... i assumed i cold just hook that line up to the convertor & then to my non HD TV & all would be well.... thanks for the responses everyone
-
Have many folks been using digital convertors for there TV antennas? We dont watch a lot of tv nowadays (rather be outside) and I'd rather spend money at the tackle shop then to give away to Bell anyways, a friend gave me his convertor that he never used (Apex 250 i think)... I hooked up all the connections properly &I ran the auto program scan, but it only gives me one channel (23, from Buffalo) any suggestions/ideas? greatly appreciated thanks

pretty sure the odds of having a CO tapping you on the shoulder in southern Ont are rather low

Hey gang ive been a "member" here for quite a while & have gotten to know a few of you fairly well as to what your preffered styles of fishing are... OFC has grown in members over the years, so I am just curious as to how many folks here take adavantage of Lake Ontario's open water salmon (& trout) fishery? by far it has become my favourite over the last few years, though I will happily fish just about any other water body or method that southern Ontario has to offer

all the Net pen projects for Lake Ontario's salmon ( and hopfully trout too perhaps down the road) are a good thing and could use all the support they can get for those who are interested in more there are a few sites they check out for more info to find a location near them to get involved www.metroeastanglers.com www.ringwoodhatchery.ca www.spoonpullers.com and for all those who can attend there will be a tournament out of port dalhousie this May in support of that site's pen project - everyone welcome http://straitlineanglers.com/Feed_The_Fry/..._tournament.htm hope the mods dont mind me posting these links, its all non-profit & for the benefit of the fishery

dooooooGle with a fish! right on bud how were the 'gweeches?

Twocoda there are other derbies out there that allow a single fish to weighed in multiple derbies/tournies example, many fellas fish 1 or two day "team format" salmon tournys on weekends during the salmon derby.... they then need to decide if that possible 28lb+ salmon will go in there tourny box of if they will only enter it in the derby as it could be a contender.... most 1 or 2 day tournys dont mind if the "boxed" fish are weighed in or entered in other derbies.... and crappieperchhunter, ive been on both sides, as ive been involved in starting up/running some events as well, sometimes it pays to have an open mind as an organizer & be willing to adapt with the changing times....

gotta agree with Gman's & Tony's points we should be thankful that Walter & the Sun brought it back after it went under in the mid -90s when it was then known as the "Toronto Star Salmon Hunt" but it could be tweaked a little further such as allowing entrants to enter the same fish in multiple events it also would be nice if there was a weigh station in the Niagara/Port Dalhousie area...

what kind of "deals" are you looking for specifically ? i herd one place had spin doctors 3 for $30... thats quite a deal as they usually go for 1316 bucks each at most stores... also herd trolling spoons were 3 for 10, sounds good to me internet sure has changed the shows i think... products can be viewed/reviewed in your living room & many online shops can offer better prices at times.... same with lodges/outfitters... they probably can cut costs from going to the shows when they can probably do better with online advertising?

Ontario Fisherman used to be my favourite... couldnt beat it at the time I now subscribe to OOD & will read Great Lakes Angler ( glangler.com ) and Lake Ontario Outdoors ( www.lakeontariooutdoors.com )

Ok so my wifes parents, sis & bro-in-law & us all want to rent a cottage this season for a week. Im looking at the second week of Sept. So far the places that i want to go to are "to far to drive" apparently (Nippissing, Quinte, Haliburton, ect) Not interested in the Kawarthas at all, have had a place there for many years & want to see new waters. Im wondering about Couch. I know its a busy lake in the summer, I figure it should be relatively calm & quiet in Mid-Sept? Its not a 100% fishing trip (as ive been told lol) but i obviously would be sneaking out for some daily "freetime".... I have allready found some reasonable looking rentals so far.... my boat is only a 16 footer, is the lake prone to "blowing up" regularly? not looking for anyones honey holes either... any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... thanks!

another vote for Joe @ Natural Wonders he has 2 boats, a big Lund for the river & a bigger Thompson trolling boat for Lake O

hey folks, sorry for the NF post here the attic in our 30+ yr old house has the original batten insulation, but i know its needs to be "topped up" a little further... im thinking of having the cellouse blown in type done & would like to do-it-myself preferably yes ive done a little research allready, but was wondering what tips any of you here could pass along, if so it would be greatly appreciated i figure the energy costs we'll save, can help loosen up the ol fishing budget a bit later on... so yes i suppose this post is somewhat fishing related wouldnt you say???
