  1. These are the same people that call "going up north" going to wasaga beach. I wouldnt complain, more wild raspberries for you...delicious.
  2. Is the standing deck in your tinner removable? This has me thinking.....
  3. awesome you guys put the big pickerels back! Catching walley at 1pm this saturday? Crazy! Congrats!
  4. the old man will always teach you some tricks...my dad does this to me all the time.
  5. man i wish my pops had his boat on Ontario rather than Huron some times...nice salmon, a few buddies and might get guided next month out off of oakville. Last year we still boated about 15 fish and it was mid September. Nice Catch!
  6. ive seen a similar scenario with locusts in wildwood alberta...disgusting
  7. As a fisherman, i say if you want to eat fish, catch it yourself...either that or eat something farmed...If you want to commercial fish, force them to use a rod and reel. Imagine people could sell game meat by dragging a net through the Forrest to collect all the deer and moose? This all shows that sustainable commercial fisheries dont exist unless extremely heavily regulated. And even then, the populations remain nowhere near their natural level. Just look at the stories from the 1800's fishing was literally like shooting fish in a barrel. I've heard horror stories of gill nets being strung across moon river before too, how can we expect to have any fish left if we allow people to completely annihilate the fisheries. If people had to learn what it takes to actually catch a fish, they would have more respect for our fisheries, and even more respect for the environment that holds the fish they are eating.
  8. sitting staring at my computer screen dreaming of being on the water

  9. nothing like limiting out and spending the rest of the day drinking beers laid back... great report.
  10. Ahhh yes, thanks for that...i need to fish some of the southern lakes some time, it is crazy how different they are from Georgian Bay.
  11. forgive my ignorance...LSC? Awesome photo, i love photos when the fish is as big as the kid who caught it.
  12. i guess the smallie situation is a little different a bit further south...ive got a couple of spots but none seem to consistently bring any size.
  13. i need to make friends with guys like these...still waiting to catch one some day...
  14. exactly what you just stated, a lot of bike guys feel above the law because they can go 250 without even blinking. its too bad that guy that passed you was going to hit another car, rather than just running of the road into a tree...at least the rest of us would be safer with people like him gone.
  15. what a thought some young blood in the leafs upper management! We all know where the problem lies, its about time they have started doing things differently.
  16. this makes me want to go back to my hometown in Northern Manitoba...ughhhh My most vivid fishing memory now is 10 years old and involves my first cast off of a dock and 3 30"+ pikes following my line in. Looks like an unbelievable time, for now I will remain envious.
  17. oh and as far as smallies go, once again...slightly elusive, they are around SEE PROFILE PICTURE <-----...just not as consistently as other species
  18. the Georgian bay largemouth population is a tricky one...it seems you are either in the right spot and they are there consistently, or you go to the next part of the lake, get into the pads and the whole setup looks the same and there are no largies to be found. There is probably a good reason why I personally have yet to witness anyone ever targeting largemouths in the pointe au baril area...i dont mind it because it means that there are more for me to catch Ive been fishing the eastern shores of georgian bay for 8 years now and If i were you, I would be targeting pike and pickerel...its taken me many years to consistently get large mouths and even then its nowhere near what the kawarthas or other lakes have to offer.
  19. I dont necessarily know about the moon etc, but I think anyone here who says they dont notice a difference in fishing dependent on the weather is crazy. Barometric pressure relates entirely to what kind of weather we are experiencing and I find any time that there is a big drop, the fish are on. This is most likely due to the fact that when it rains, food is flooded into the lake and the fish feed, hence if you fish prior to the rain the fish are active and ready to feed but the food they are waiting for isnt available yet. I fish a lot and I honestly do not think there is any denying that the majority of times when the fish are biting hard is prior to a storm system. This past weekend if fished buck horn and the bite was on hard all day albeit the very ...of course a storm blew in Sunday morning.
  20. i like this idea of running the grub off of a single hook spoon, thanks for the tip, I am definitely going to try this out.
  21. Ill ask my friend this weekend, I am heading to pigeon/buckhorn tomorrow.
  22. I mis spoke, usually I will switch after the pike goes quiet. If a pike misses, I usually throw it right back at him, but if I get no action the second pass I switch fast.
  23. care to show me a picture of this rig? Sounds interesting
  24. dont forget, Argentina scored but got it called back... Ive got a lot of money riding on Germany winning...#officepoolchampion
