Marleau delivers the speech to rally the troops and the sens fold like a cheap deck of cards plus the scabs get absolutely crushed at home was a good Saturday to be a leaf fan

The reason Bill and I recommend mono is because steel and fluro don’t float and that can mess up the action on your top water
-
heavy mono would be your only option...honestly ive spent a lot of time working with mono and fluro to find that sweet spot where the majority of the time pike wont cut it and 18lbish seems to be the sweet spot. The majority of the time if the line is fresh they dont cut it.

Scuro... Bingo you nailed it bud You dont wanna turn into the washington capitals Ill tell you right now...if you played for Scotty Bowman and decided that you had your own ideas...you didnt play for scotty bowman anymore... Yes Babcock is arrogant as hell, hes the general, you either obey orders or you can go fight for another army...I wouldnt be surprised to see willy shipped off...he seems like one of the guys that doesnt care much for being told what to do.

hey i aint hating on the 360 or comparing it to other brands...id probably prefer 360 myself but buddy seems like he specifically wants a garmin, hence i recommended panoptix...personally im extremely happy with my helix 7 G2 on ice mode...the flasher ultra graph combo is ridiculously good as it is. Bill I 1000% agree that if you are fishing big fish in a lot of water, there isnt even a need for a flasher, but man if you are trying to jig up 14 inch eyes in 30FOW...good friggin luck with a graph, half of the time you dont see the walleye till its at your bait on the graph, hence the flasher is way better to tell something is changing on bottom. I much prefer the flasher when the ground isnt 100% flat, if you have rock structure, they all throw the graph entirely outta whack.
-
glad to see you had more luck than i did with your buddies out there...who knows maybe ill run into ya some day out there.
-
remember to download yoru maps ahead of time...then you can turn your phone onto airplane mode and save some battery while its running...unless youve got a charger in the boat?
-
not sure if youve seen it in action? How can a live view of whats beneath you be any worse than a flasher/graph it just puts them into a 3 dimensional view...ive been very impressed with what I have seen.
-
sounds like i should have just given you a call nick lol We actually got so desperate that this is exactly what we did....we brought out or pop up and moved out of shanty town to try mark some fish...marked a few but nothing would bite all day. Id say in total we marked close to 10 fish? Probably whiteys the way they came up from bottom. lmao jesus thats hurtin...i dont even really count perch as catching...so this is even more brutal lol
-
honest question...do you ice fish? If so I would heavily consider getting a Garmin equipped with Panoptix. It will replace the need for a flasher..turning your boat GPS into an ice fishing sonar as well, potentially saving you money in the long run ? The panoptix down for ice fishing is very very impressive.

incredible these guys got away without a scratch...what a nightmare

thats fair bill.. I will outright state this here, there is nothing wrong with the operator at all guys. I'm not pinning the skunk on them what so ever, Bear Point were 100% professional, organized and nice guys. Their huts were warm and clean, the transport in and out was fast and efficient. I would say as a word to the wise, if you plan on jigging I would not put more then two guys into the hut as we tried three and our lines continuously got tangled. Steve, if you read this thread, my buddy jake and I happened to talk to Callum for an hour when he came by to shovel some snow on our hut...super nice guy, that was probably the highlight of my fishing day hahaa. Bit of salt on the wound, i dont know if its the cold weather this year but ice fishing has been a total struggle this year. I havent caught a fish since before christmas...i dont know what the heck is going on but nothing seems to be working. Ive probably marked at least 30 fish and not a single one has taken the various baits ive presented. Im lost.
-
report is a total skunk for basically everyone at Bear point...probably wont bother with ice fishing simcoe ever again. There's better fishing to be had elsewhere without the ridiculous crowds...I had just left Pointe Au Baril that morning, i would have rather gotten skunked out on the ice without a soul in sight than set up in a hut village and get skunked.
-
i dont blame ya for handless releasing that ling hahaha nasty buggers
-
I think that this is also something that I need to get better at. Its difficult to break old patterns when they worked before.

his driver also has a go fundme to help him with his medical bills and no doubt the counselling that he is going to need. Bill was very very lucky to survive, apparently was very close to not making it himself.

im letting the operator do the navigating, i wouldnt dare venture out on simcoe without knowing what the heck im doing...

got in at bear point for sunday...praying this rain storm doesnt cancel our plans If anyone is out on the laker grounds or plans to be on sunday, lemme know, id love to meet ya!
-
they just recovered his body...so sad
-
we are planning on going this sunday if possible...I did indeed fish on sunday on GBAY and holy cow it was a total skunk for two of us and then my buddy caught a pretty big pike but that was it for the entire day. This whole season so far has been a bust, i dont know what the heck is going on but the struggle is friggin real. Its rather discouraging to be honest, and we are fishing multiple spots that see absolutely 0 pressure and that we had huge success at last year...i dont know what the heck to do.
