Hey Wayne, I'll try to find the number of the local Picton taxi co. that we used last week to transport us in and out of town.... Price was reasonable...my buddy didn't care too much for the driver, but I thought she was ok, besides having no teeth, wearing an old leather Davey Crocket jacket with frills, smelled like an ashtray and drove 100km in a 50km zone through the outskirts of town

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.....THANK GOD, I have two large dogs that seem to hear a pin drop outside even when they're inside with the windows closed ....they drive the wife and I crazy at times, but we sleep with peace at night knowing we have our two protective boys on gaurd

I don't believe that it'll damage the line Mike, but you will definately need to double wrap it onto the first release clip to prevent the line from sliding and/or pre-mature releasing -
It wasn't that difficult to make a last minute decision to head down to Quinte after seeing the forecasted weather this week... I called a good buddy of mine and we made plans within minutes to get out and have some R&R, laughs and try to land some BOQ eyes...Left the house at 3:50AM Tuesday morning and picked Ray up in Amherstview at 6:00....we then drove to his summer home in Hay Bay, loaded up the boat and high tailed it to the ferry on the Adolpheus side... Weather was awesome for this time of year and what was even better, was the lack of boat traffic out on the water compared to what it's like on a weekend ....We headed out east of the ferry and I was able to land the first eye, (which ended up being the only eye) within an hour of getting our lines out...A beautiful fatty that measured 31" long and weighed 10.1lbs This guy came out of nowhere behind us and was moving fast!!! Fishing was tough for everyone with this Indian Summer type weather that has moved in...water temps in the Reach area were between 52.5 and 53.1F..we talked to a few different gangs back at the motel on Tuesday night and none of them were able to land any eyes that day.. Got an early start Wednesday morning and caught the 6:00AM ferry....on the water by 6:20 and caught the first fish of the morning, a healthy 6lb'r at 7:45AM...We had 2 more fish on which got off fand that was it for the rest of the morning...The fish were deep!!! We were marking them at 60-90FOW... Headin' out at 6:20AM.... What a beauty morning!!! We met up with a few of our friends in their boat. Had a great time and looking forward to heading back down within the next couple of weeks!! Hopefully we get some cooler temps so that the water temp gets down to the 40's...

TroutnMuskieHunter replied to fishinfool's topic in General Discussion
Not sure bout that statement....I caught that 53" ski last Sunday at 8:15AM, 15 minutes after I got my line in the water ......then it got quiet for the rest of the morning!!....While i was boating back to the house, I thought that maybe I should have gone out a lot earlier I'll definately be on the river tomorrow morning by 6:30....the clocks go back tonight so it'll be light out by then -
Great report Fish Farmer ....that is one HUGE sheeeeeeeepy

Good report Lew!...glad to see that both of you were able to hook into a fish!! I was thinkin' about you late yesterday afternoon while looking out the window at the river, wondering if you guys where out braving the elements!!!...Good call for getting off the water and returning home safe and sound!!
