  4. ACcording to Muskies Canada weight estimation table, a 57"x33" Skie would weigh ~78lbs .....you'd think that a record fish like that would be gettin a bit more publicity instead of rumours
  5. Our bedroom 36" RCA which is 23yrs old, just died on us a couple of months ago....guess they don't make em like they used to .....it was replaced with another RCA
  6. Hey Glen...did ya figure this one out??
  7. kickingfrog...here's a video clip from a vet decribing what to do with a broken nail!!...I had this happen to my dog years back and I used Cornstarch as a packing around the nail to stop the bleeding....this vet suggets flour... Hope it helps... http://video.google.ca/videosearch?hl=en&a...4&ct=title# Once you connect to the link, choose the Emergency Dog Health Care: Tips & Techniques for Pet Owners ... video on the left

  10. Dang it Glen......that is one fine landscaping job you did there!!! It feels good when you accomplish something like that doesn't it?... That is ONE nice looking neighbourhood you live in....gotta love all the space and room between the other homes....just outa curiousity, what's the average size of most lots down there??
  11. Good old Lucky Lager in cans not bottles....and has to be ice cold!! $31 for a case of 24
  12. Those are some nice lookin fish you caught there!!...Thanks for sharing!
  13. Yesterday, I woke up, looked out the window and saw that the river had a blanket of ice right out into the main channel with a light coating of snow on top...I was depressed to say the least, but it made me start to get into the ice fishing mode!!....Looks are deceiving folks...here is what the river looks like this morning!!! During the early ice fishing season, I always carry my ice chisel with me, while wearing my survival suit and check the ice in front of me every couple of steps...If the chisel breaks the ice with only one or 2 hits, I back up and get the heck off the lake or river!! I'll also do this on unknown lakes even during the middle of the winter.... Be safe!!!! On a brighter note.....now that the ice disappeared, I think I'm going to get another kick at the can and head out for a late fall Muskie hunt this week
  14. I'm not a big casting type of guy for Muskie, but I have tried to do a bit more this season after talking to Lew ......I have an Abu 6500C3 which has been a great reel for trolling and casting. I've had this reel for the past couple of years and have no complaints whatsoever, especially the price ...
  15. She is a wonderful person Radnine...She's my "baby", that fished with me from when she was 6 months old to now, that all of a sudden grew up, met a great guy from Marietta, GA, got married, moved to the US and has made me a proud Grampa of a lovely little girl.... I love her to death!!!
  16. What a great year you had considering it was mainly shoreline fishing!!...Good job
  17. Thanks Lew!!!....I've seen that Lowrance has come out with the new HDS series but I just can't justify spending the $$$$$$$ on toys like that....I'm trying to save up and buy a boat that I can trailer around and feel safe in out on larger bodies of water like Lake O.. ....the pontoon is great for the Ottawa R ....it goes into the water as soon as the ice goes off and stays in until ice forms in the fall but it's not something that you want to tow around!!
  18. Hey Kevin.....I'm looking forward to the Brookie trout trippin' 2009 excursion with you Paul and Jacques and in return, the 3 of you will be my guests on opening day of Muskie season next June!!! But....you have to promise me that I will get one bigger than this gal Jacques, We're supposed to get a little milder temps next week....If the launch isn't iced over, let's plan on trying to get you your first Ottawa R. Muskie next Saturday!!
  19. Thanks for the reply Shawn!.....I was hoping to get some feedback from members that actually own/owned this model to see what that had to say..good or bad.. I've owned the X40 and I now have the X75 which is on my pontoon boat....both these models have been great for use as "depth" finders, but I really have never been able to get them to actually show arches on the screen...I'm figuring because they are a lower $$$$ model... Any comments???? Steve
  20. Yup...no worries Paul...it'll all be good...I can hardly wait to get into that Speckled trout lake next spring...I will bring my ATV and Leechman can ride in my boat..

  22. Excellent report and greats pics!!!....Thanks for sharing!!
