  2. Also known as my Pickeral Palace... Damn.. now the secret is out! we fished it hard (Spiel, Crappiesteve and myself) and nodda.... mind you it was mid afternoon... Way to go guys! Gerritt.
  3. Sweet Video brother! thanks for putting it together Gerritt.
  4. That shoreline looks awfully familiar!...LOL Congrats GCD! Gerritt.
  5. Do yourself a favour... avoid Marineland if possible... they are more expensive then Wonderland, the rides are junk and their treatment toward animals is sub-par.. I have read/heard nothing but bad things about the conditions in which their animals have to live in... and more then a few have died as a result. Your better off hitting the new water park in Niagara I have heard nothing but positive things about it! I think it is called great wolf something.. it is geared toward kids and is indoors... now back on topic... sorry but I have never fished the areas you mentioned... I just wanted to warn you about MarineLand. What zoo are you planning on hitting? Toronto Zoo is awesome!... Lion Safari is pretty cool too.. Bowmanville zoo is so so... Killman Zoo... well take a pass on it... Gerritt.
  6. Dude! Awesome report! I now know what it is a father feels when his child takes interest in the things we as adults like to do.... it is an amazing thing... keep up on it and encourage it!.. she is the future of fishing and will continue its long heritage! Wicked! Gerritt.
  7. I know it is not Callander but Lakair offers camping sites on the West Arm.... right beside HWY 64.... worth a mention.. Gerritt.
  8. Tinman, welcome aboard this mighty ship... you might as well know we are the team in first place at the moment please dont let me down! LOL... Just kidding! I know you wont! Good luck tommorrow.... any Muskie in the forecast? Gerritt.
  9. Cant go wrong with Welcome Lodge!! While their cottages are not 5 stars they are comfortable and cozy and the view of the water cant be beat! What cottage are you staying in? I have pretty much been in all of them having rents two at a time for the past few years...I have a ton of spots I have done well at, and that should put you on fish... Do you have Google Earth installed? if so I will send you a file that should help out... Here is a hint.... #5 Shad Raps In BlueGill, Perch and Bass... I assume your bringing a boat? I have a few decent trolling spots for you then as well... I have been fishing The West Arm of Nipissing for awhile, and I have been @ Welcome Lodge for the previous five years... Gary and Angela are great hosts! If you want a pm me with what you are targeting etc... and I will be certain to give you as much info as I can muster. Gerritt.
  10. Joe, Good Luck brother! Sooooo When can I expect an invite? I'll bring the beverages I will be up with the "BOSS" this weekend or I would offer you a hand. Gerritt.
  11. Well I am heading off to Killarny come Friday evening... While I have fished G-Bay more then a few times (Sans Souci area ) I am new to this area.. are there are spots I should be looking at? not looking for your hotspots here.. Just a general area to investigate and toss a few lures into.. My target Species will be Pickeral, Pike and I gotta try and get a Muskie for my team... If you have fished this area and are willing to offer any advice I would certainly appreciate it. TIA! Gerritt.
  12. Sounds like he may be doing what Samoset (Beside Lakair) is doing.... Selling you the cottage but NOT the LAND! you then pay yearly fees for upkeep and maintenance etc I say that because there are no lot size descriptions, he therefor holds the title to the property. Gerritt.
  13. Glad to see you guys made it home and had a a great time with the remainder of your weekend! It was my pleasure to have the both of you aboard my tin can, and you are more then welcome anytime! Dont believe everything they tell you about me... as it is probably true! LOL.. But seriously it was my pleasure to spend a few, albeit short hours with the both of you. I just wished the winds had died down a bit so we could spend a bit more time on the water.. but that north wind on the way back to my lodge was BRUTAL! to say the least LOL.. As for the fishing... I was trying my Walleye spots at first but I think the combination of the clod front and it being the middle of the afternoon hindered our chances a bit... so off for pike it was!...dang.. could get any of them either... shallow calm bays, weeds and rock structure.. I could'nt buy a fish that afternoon... I was started to get frustrated.. and I said I have one more card up my sleeves lets see what kind of trouble we could get into... Man was I relieved to see Cliff nail a healthy Muskie! it took my frustration away and brought a smile to everyones face! If anyone here gets a chance to fish w/ Cliff and Carole RUN... Dont Walk at the chance... better people you will not find. Glad to hear you had a great outing. I was happy to be a small part of it. Gerritt.
  14. Glad to see the Virginia contingent made it home safe and sound! Nice seeing you guys again and shooting some carp.. Gerritt.
  15. and here I got a nasty PM saying how we were not in the lead and that I needed to go to math class...... perhaps the someone that sent me that pm needs to go learn basic arithmetic...addition and subtraction (∑) thank god this person is not figuring out π as we have been leading by an inch for what a week now, 2 weeks? more? you know who you are. Thanks for the insult... Gerritt.
  16. Hi Jen thanks for the reply! he is an awesome kid!! the pic of the bird you see nested is an Osprey nest.. located just north of where I was lodged it is a blurry picture as the waves were rocking the boat.. ahhh well... the second one off the bow is a Loon stretching it wings! Thanks for asking, Gerritt.
  17. MS, nice to see you again! I kinda forgot just how good of a guy you are.. had a blast shooting the carp with yah Seeya next year! And congrats guys! Gerritt.
  18. And here are a few more pics Ahhh the Bouy by Round Bay.... it gets "love" every year.... and for good reason! 5 to 13 to 45-50' of water makes for some decent fishing so we pay Homage The evening bite... Perfect netting job from my FIL... The quarry... The release... one of the many caught... and another.. Expect more to come! Gerritt.
  19. :thumbsup_anim: Awesome job brother! I will add the entry tomorrow! Ger.
  20. Well I finally have a few moments to myself to sit and reflect on the week and to post a bunch of pictures.. First I will start off the weather was battling us all week, High winds and ALOT of rain, but when it was safe to get out we did We once again stayed @ Welcome Lodge for the 5th year in a row, Gray and Angela are great hosts.. thanks for another memorable week! This year the fishing was a little different as we had the Slot to deal with... no matter we not meat hunters anyways... just enough for a nice meal is all I was interested in, out of 200 fish caught between the 3 of us only 4 went into into the pan feeding 6 people We did well in terms of numbers with ALOT of fish caught in the slot the biggest was a 21" that came in on #5 Perch ShadRap what we lacked in terms of size was easily made up in terms of numbers of fish. I dont have very many Walleye pictures due to the rains we were experiencing on what seemed like an almost daily basis, However I do have a ton more shots coming as my brother in-law took alot of shots of me holding up our catch on his cam... I will post them shortly when I receive them Here are a couple pictures of the weather we experianced we caught a ton of fish in this size range.. I am assuming this is either a 1 year or 2 year class fish...A testament stocking efforts are helping the walleye fishery This one measured just over 13" Then there were a bunch of these fellas caught too! Here are a few shots of some of the wildlife up there And these shots are my favourite, what a proud father I am! Ladies and Gentlemen.... We have a new RockBass Champion! He was nailing em' Liam is 22mths old and this was the first time I could really fish with him as he is able to better communicate with me etc.... it was priceless.. "Daddy, Fish Wawa" (wawa = Water) he wanted them put back into the water... Already a C&R fisherman! After a while he got a little bored and decided this would be WAY more fun! He also LOVES the boat! man is he gonna make a wicked fishing partner! Now its time for a little R&R!! After a hard days fishing he does like we all do...falls asleep at his table.... On Friday I headed over to see the guys at Lakair Spent a couple hours fishing with Spiel and CrappieSteve (Sorry I didnt make it to the fishfry Kevin!) then I had the pleasure of having Cliff and Carole in my boat for a couple hours Wow are they great people friendly easy going and great to waste some time with! I will be adding a ton more fishing picture tomorrow once they are all emailed to me..... All in all a fantastic week! Gerritt.
  21. starting to upload the pics now but I will save Cliff's pics for his return Gerritt.
