  1. Wow...you certainly lived up to your name...way to go! And thanks for taking the time to post it!
  2. you have to listen for all the swear words....as you get closer you'll see a distinct blue tinge in the air... Seriously...head out about 6 or 7 clicks...into the deeeeeep water...troll 40-60 feet down...if you see fish jumping behind the boat, grab your line...you've got one on!
  3. Way to go man...nothing like a good day of bassin' followed by the occasional bass steak
  4. Good stuff *cough -dream job!- cough*
  5. Huh...not sure what to make of it. He's not saying it'll help you catch more fish...kind of an interesting spin on clothing for fishermen...but the angle about an "identity for fishermen" or a "uniform" was being pitched a little too heavily. But that's Lindner...he takes stuff seriously...whaddyagonnado? Basically it's another "lucky shirt"
  6. Welcome aboard Yarik...Rice and Pigeon have pretty good reputations...fire up that new motor and get your first report posted!

  10. Well so far, it’s been an ok summer for fishing. I’m getting out a lot, but I don’t get out for long periods of time…..only been home in the city for one weekend, and at cottages or camping the rest of the time…but only squeezing in a couple hours here and there on a Sunday morning or afternoon. NOT that I’m complaining Just dumping the pics from the camera, so I thought I’d post ‘em up! Enjoy… Typical morning in Deep Bay, Gull Lake Gull Lake has some decent smallies, Largies, And I’m workin’ on the Lakers…. I’ve also been privileged enough to have a friend who takes me out for salmon every now and then… When we catch ‘em, they look like this And when we don’t catch ‘em, the scenery looks like this For the first time on softwater, I tried out Island Lake in Orangeville…I was pretty impressed with the bass in there…and they were pretty impressed with surface lures So that’s it…for now….off to Muskoka this weekend…haven’t been there for what seems like ages….gotta help Dad with some sanding and painting…but something tells me I’ll find a couple hours to check on the bass…and maybe even walleye…and maybe…. Happy fishing, all! Thanks for looking!
  11. One of my favourite smallie lakes is a small lake (square km or two at best) that has very steep shorelines and depths of 100'. One of the best tactics I've used in there is getting my tube jig down to the 40 FOW mark...last year we pulled two 20"+ fish out within 5 mins of each other dragging bottom, while our partners in the other boat were getting small stuff using crankbaits in the 10-15' range. OF course every lake is different...so mix it up on the depths...I'm just sayin' don't be afraid to go deep. A guy I know with the MNR just netted a smallmouth on Lake Rosseau in 187 FOW this past week
  12. I don't think I've ever seen them at the beer store....but there's lots of independent stores that sell them. I'm not sure where your journey begins, but there's a great little shop in Oakville on Cross Ave....all kinds of stuff in there and they'll help you pick out good ones
  13. Wow...I must've missed that report in the spring, but am glad someone dragged it back to the top...AWESOME!!!!
  14. Fantastic report...don't think I can come up with a better way to spend a few days
  15. Luc, if you haven't gone to see someone about this by NOW.... ...let us know how u make out
  16. Very interesting...I knew the top 3 bass would be close to each other...but wow! That's tight!
  17. This has turned into a super interesting thread...I would've been fooled...although I might have read the feedback comments after seeing the price. With a couple tuning adjustments you should be able to make it suspend. Little stickers you can add...marketed at one time as SuspenDots.
  18. Gotta love trips like that Thanks for sharing!
  19. Great report MTP!! Thanks for finally getting around to it You need a bigger, more stable boat, so your wife can paint while you fish
  20. Can't find results from the "Derby"....am just curious to know if anyone heard how big the winning bass were?
  21. Sounds like a fair and objective review...thanks for posting it. I'm with you...sounds like a good place to try thru the ice
  22. No worries with the Nissan....10 years from now it'll still be impressing you
  23. Would have been nice of the person to ask the fellow just how many he meant by "a few good feeds". Jumping to conclusions rarely ends well.
  24. Great report! Definitely got me thinking about giving that place a visit...is that Lake Manitou?? I didn't realize it was so big...thanks for sharing
  25. Looks like Sam's Rockpile, if I remember right...spent a summer out there at one of the lodges a few years ago...Goose islands, Cross Point, Blueberry Island, "the white dot"....good memories
