  1. AMAZING sunrise shots...I just kinda sat and stared for a while Thanks for sharing these great reports man...always worth reading/watching!
  2. Valentine's day fishing with my sweetie is a tradition...trying to figure out how we deal with our baby this year...mama is still a little too worried to leave her with anyone just yet.
  3. I think you'll have to worry more about the crowds than the ice thickness out there...should be fine this weekend.
  4. Very nicely done!! That whitie looks HUGE
  5. Good stuff Doc....totally envious of your life up there...thanks for putting the video together
  6. Way to go!!! Feels great to try something new and succeed I've only ever used an 8" auger, and so long as the blades are sharp, I have no trouble. And I DO fish all winter...once the ice gets over the 24 inch mark it becomes a BIT tougher...
  7. :worthy: :thumbsup_anim: :clapping:
  8. Wow...what do you guys drink out there? Your eyes were starting to look a bit red by the end of the day
  9. Nice shootin!!! I heard that Rosseau was producing quite a few fish over the weekend...nice to hear. Better to see first hand though!! Couple more weeks...hope I can last that long!
  10. Lots of lakes in the immediate area that you could chase trout on...roll into Miner's Bay and pop a few holes on Gull Lake, for example. Check the regs tho...lots of one-line lakes (like Gull) and exceptions in that neck of the woods.
  11. I know that there are two Head lakes up there....the one that runs along hwy#45 has walleye bass and muskie...don't believe there are any crappie in it...but I could be wrong. I do know if it's a Kawartha Lake and doesn't have Crappie in it, there's no point fishing it through the ice...unless you're after perch, sunfish and rockbass. Not sure about the other Head Lake...which I think is more in Haliburton anyway.
  12. Are you in the arctic....LOL....nice report, Dave
  13. x2 on Angling Specialties!
  14. Yep...the coarse salt is way better, and you have to drain the water that it extracts. I throw mine in a margerine tub with salt, put it in the freezer, and drain it once a day. After a couple days, there's no water left.
  15. Got the first one down....many more to come
  16. Way to go, Terry!! Gotta love whitefish action like that!!
  17. bowfin on the panfish tackle...that would be fantastic!!! Way to pop the ice cherry....something tells me we'll see more hardwater reports from you!
  18. Is the same lake that kept producing those ridiculous fall reports of hawg smallies and gator pike? Or are all the lacs Quebeciose like that? VERY nicely done!!
  19. Awesome stuff!! Depthfinder rig up is easy...either make a t-bar out of wood, or if it hangs straight ('cuz not all of us do ), just get some foam (nerf ball, pool noodle, pipe insulation, etc.), slice it to the middle, bury the cable in so it's centered, and wrap it up nice with tape.
  20. Airboats only eh...? Allright...well I don't feel TOO bad about being stuck down here then...have a good weekend Sudsy Will check in with you soon...looks like the last weekend of the month I will be in Muskoka at a friend's place on Lake Muskoka. If we don't do terribly well in front of his place, I think I'll be able to drag him over the the spots I know on Rosseau. Still waiting to hear what and if you're catching anything in that hut of yours with the lovely blue paint on it
  21. LOL -- what he said!! Way to go man...very glad that you got out!! If you were 100 yds out, I'm guessing you were in maybe 8-15 FOW at the most...next time head a little further you never know...
  22. Hey...I might have a shot at Rosseau this Sunday...any word on the main lake? ie..if I want to walk out of Windermere Bay into some deeper water? Still dicey or are people crossing it? LMAO at the sandwich review, Disco!
  23. Great info for you in those two posts, Dunner...you will definitely get into some perch simply by following the above advice. And Keith, at the baitshop mentioned above, will also give you some very good advice. Good luck!
  24. Great report!! nice to see that you found some fish...I'm sure you're sold on buying an auger now You would think that it would be easy to find old holes...but with a steady breeze out there, they can be covered in less than half an hour and you'd never find them. Hope we see another report from you soon
  25. Nicely done, guys! I like the little red collar for the treble hook on the williams
