  1. Give Tom Waldock a call....he's out of Huntsville and seems to be making a name for himself. I haven't fished with him yet, but know a couple people that have and they only have good things to say about him. Have been chatting back and forth with him for a bit, online, and he would be my go-to guy up there. Click here to check out his web page
  2. I think it's a great idea....I'd love to have a shirt from the board. "I don't always get my threads locked....but when I do....it's on OFC"
  3. Great post right there....thanks for sharing.
  4. ring-ding-dong man those pikes are long! Way to go...again!!!
  5. Oh MAN those are some nice slabs!! Very well done
  6. The man in the red hut strikes again! Nice work on the pike, Ryan Too bad we weren't able to make the run up there this weekend....looks like a great time had by all!
  7. That's like.... 0.04 dolphins per minute....doesn't sound so bad.....
  8. Many guys are "thinking about" taking the boat out....you're out there reeling fish in....awesome stuff
  9. People keep walleye smaller than that! Nicely done Dan!
  10. I'm not missing summer fishing, but I think I'll watch the video a few more times. That right there is why I subscribed to your feed a while ago iceman!
  11. Saw this posted on another forum...I thought it was pretty wild....especially considering this was circa 1924. Video has some great musical accompaniment too Old School Ice Buggy
  12. I have yet to hear of a positive icefishing report from that lake. Hopefully yours will be the first!!! I've never heard anything bad about the lodge that's on it....just that the fishing is none too productive in the winter.
  13. Love the surprise fish!!! That lake's ability to blow my mind knows no bounds!!!!!
  14. That's a report and a half!! The specks and lakers had beautiful markings...wow! Also the first time I've seen a fish caught on one of those soft plastic Storm jigging lures LOL
  15. Fair enough....I have been fishing the lake for over 20 years but rarely leave the shallow muddy DeeBank end...have honestly fished Hammell's bay less than 5 times. Never heard anyone talk about catching cisco/herring in there either....but that bay's definitely deep enough to hold them, and that lake offers up many surprises, so I'll believe you. Heck....there might even be a few brookies left roaming around from way back in the day.....
  16. There are a couple of Three Mile Lakes within Muskoka....the one I'm familiar with, close to Raymond, Utterson, Windermere, is known for walleye, but definitely doesn't have herring. Ice fishing is slow, but you can usually run into some good sized perch and the odd walleye. There is a cottage rental outfit that puts huts out in the winter, and at the deeper end of the lake there are usually a few huts out, anywhere between "Wonder Beach" and what I believe is Bathayalcock Island. Keep one line down with a minnow on bottom and another tied in 3 or 4 feet above it, and jig another line aggressively close by. There isn't a TON of structure in the lake, aside from weeds weeds weeds. And Lew's tackle collection. Good luck Of course, you're not far from Lake Rosseau....you will likely be able to get on the ice in Windermere Bay and try for a few lakers
  17. Crazy! With that clear water I guess you have a better chance at getting rods back like that!
  18. Very nicely done! You're killin' me with those lakers. Do you ever go for pike on Cooch through the ice?
  19. At least you get points for trying....I will remember this lesson if and when my x67c ever starts to crap out. Coboconk way, you say? Too bad about the skunking....get'em next time.
  20. Nip has been pretty solid for offering up jumbos with a shot at decent pike and eyes....herring can be fun too. Bit of a drive, but, easy walking out to decent action....or just call around and get a day hut
  21. The guy catches so many rainbows he doesn't need to make roebags! So jealous
  22. Aaaahhhhhhhhh I love this lake....and I've only ever read about it on your reports. Easily that fish was in the high teens....but who cares....the picture says it all....just a tank of a fish! Congrats again
  23. Thanks guys....critter in pic #2 was a really healthy red fox. Hopped on the ice a stone's throw away from me, and sniffed around a bit, but by the time I got the phone out for a pic, he was crossing the lake at a good clip
  24. Well the weekend was getting close, and there were no plans on the calendar for us to be up North, but the wife could tell I was getting a bit antsy. She suggested that maybe I needed a bit of "me-time" and that I should go do a bit of fishing on Saturday. WOW do I ever love her I didn't want to skip out on the family for the entire day, so I headed to a lake I've never fished that was within a couple hours of home. Walked out to a decent spot with 35 FOW under me and jigged up my new PB crappie. I lost another one that felt about the same, so I'm pretty sure I'll be going back when I get the chance. Nice morning on the ice….just what the doctor ordered. A few pics:
  25. AWWWWESOME!!!! I love the reports you post out there....congrats on slamming that brute! Did you get a measurement?
