  1. glad you finally came out of the shadows...welcome!
  2. very nicely done...I am a follower of the solunar times too....if anything it's a healthy confidence booster, which never hurts. But I've seen lots of action correlate to the specific times...even on the ice. That bass could well crack the 4 lb. mark....I'll call it 4. 3oz. from where I'm sitting...reading your lengthxgirth measurements...
  3. Wow...I can't believe he's still going...when I went in there, maybe, 10 years aog after he moved from the actual Lucky Lou's location to Western Automotive, I thought he said he was carrying the fishing stuff until it disappeared. Of course, that could still be the case....he had a lot of stuff....
  4. hot DANG that looks good! Mind you, I wouldn't mind trying to see how big of a smallie I could catch using crawdads that big
  5. Wow -- good job!! I have wanted to fish Horwood for a LONG time....you have just caused me to bump it back up the list...thanks for the great report!
  6. Cudz, maybe those massive 10 pounders you catch up North would be a concern, but, I've never had walleye cut through my line, and I do pretty well with soft plastics for them....
  7. oooohhhhhh sooooo jealoussssss....love the wildlife pics...ESPECIALLY the moose. NICE!!!!!!!! PS that is one nice bass!
  8. Extremely well done, guys! That is the kind of trip that keeps me awake at night....heading north and hitting the back lakes...wow! I especially love the pic of solopaddler's dad with his big walleye and the stub of his stogey in his mouth
  9. Aww come on...the angle that pic has been taken at is ridiculous! Is he holding a dessert plate or a full dinner plate? How tall are the mountains behind him??!?!?
  10. Well, the time has finally come -- the lovely Laker Jessy and I are getting married in just a couple days....we'll be saying our vows either on the dock at Gull Lake, or on the screened-in porch...depending on the weather. Either way, we're pretty pumped, and looking forward to a lot of , hopefully just as much , and plenty of for a long time to come! And yes, I'm bringing the rod....
  11. Sweeeeeet Deal!!!
  12. Awww man....I don't know what is more unbelievable -- that the fish had 200 feet to run, or that you are capable of kicking yourself in the teeth!!!! Just kiddin around beauty fish....and little Splenda looks like he'll be quite the heartbreaker!
  13. No question in that pic you can see it's a BIG bass..you would immediately think in the 8+ range, and no surprise to hear 10, considering how far away the pic is. Too bad the other thread is getting all the action
  14. experimental lakes? I had no idea they existed....any idea where this region is? Not that I want to go there....it would just be cool to know. Great article too, Spiel...thanks for digging this one up!
  15. $6.00 = as good as free!
  16. If the lake is known for holding lots of Muskies, but smaller ones, then you'll be OKAY....just okay. If there is the real potential for a 40"plus fish, well.....you're gonna get bossed around. Those fish really do live up to the reputation once hooked. Mind you, the last time I went to a lake that is known for its abundance of smaller muskies, I got rocked by a 47" PB .... so, yeah. I guess I've reached the point of rambling. Just send us a report!
  17. When I saw the video about the lions, I'm sorry to say that I thought it was a joke and the guy was going to get mauled at the end. I guess it's what all the crazy videos on YouTube have done to me
  18. no, apprently nobody died...which is miraculous...but this was all over the news a few weeks back, and it seems to be well documented that there were no fatalities. Think about what would have happened if the pumps were busy....truly amazing nobody was killed
  19. Welcome aboard, Dixie -- hope to see lots of reports with you in ;em!
  20. 9,6!!! Wow....that is crazy.... Thanks for keeping us posted, Johnny
  21. This clip has almost attained European Pike status....or maybe Siamese Pike status....still don't get tired of watching though
  22. That is too funny....you will get your revenge....and when you do, it will be sweet!
  23. I tried not to look at the other responses, but....I'm gonna say....it's freshly spawned....so does that mean it's skinny or putting on the feed? skinny, I think....I'll say 5 lbs 14 oz. When do we get the answer??!?!?!?!
  24. go to www.bancroftontario.com, or just click HERE! then click on the "Lake Info" link down the left-hand side. You will see all the lakes in the area, can click on each one, and get some info. Notably, Wadsworth has no write-up...could it be 'cause the fishing isn't so hot? or could it be that it's SOOOOO good they're trying to downplay it a bit? Good luck either way...lots of good lakes in the area!
