REALLY ive owned both Fichts and my current E tec, what are you using to compare, Magazine articles,pull the cover off both side by side and show me the differance,same blocks same mids same trim units mmmm same gearcases theve used since they brought out the 60 degree line of engines,sure BRP refined the mapping, but its still got glitches,ive also had a 99 and 02 135 Opti both never made it 700 hrs altho I heard Merc cleaned these motors up in 04 and they are now almost bulletproof

HAHA Randy the 7 yr warranty yeah ,the first three are genuine BRP the rest who knows what insurance company they contracted that out to,good luck with that after 3 yrs,I took the rebate,notice this yr theres no 7 yr warranty offered

Tybo that 300hrs no service is Bull BRP comes out with a new tune for the ECM back it goes,within 70hrs I lost a set of plugs ,the gearcase at the end of the season NEEDED a oil change,in the end in the fine print when you ask BRP ,the spark plugs good for 300 hrs 3 yrs -NO we did not manufacture the plugs therefore we cannot be held responsible for there lifespan HAHAH ,your also right its a 2 stroke with very fine tolerances therefore requiring a break in not on this baby WOT out of the box

computer tech is all your gonna see on any 2 stroke from this time forward they have to keep it running SO LEAN to meet EPA that its insane when you pull off the cover,Take the cover off a 4 stoke and you can put your full hand about anywhere on the block the bellypan is even low enough to compensate for oil changing etc,pull the cover off my Etec and all you see are boxs wires condensors,you can not see the block,there is ALOT that can go wrong,the Etec is a glorified Ficht Engine the one that brought OMC to Bankruptcy,I dont hate my Etec but id like you to be informed its not all glory days like the dealers and manufacture pushes,if I where about to retire this engine would not even be in my list of options

K heres my 2 cents,ive got an 07 115 Etec,ive had Merc, Yamaha,Omc ,THIS MOTOR is AMAZING on fuel, it is thats the truth,it is alot harder on oil then the claims they promise it burns alot of oil and at 60.00 gallon it adds up fast ,say 5-7 gallons per average yr 100-120hrs,compared to a single oil change on a 4 stroke,Power wise it has no more no less than its 4 stoke competition,the video of it sinking a Yamaha is a JOKE,head to head running around last yr a Friends boat Lund with the 115 4s Yamaha and my boat about equal weight we where nose to nose out of the hole I edged him a bit off plane I have trim tabs and he sneaked by ,got me by 2-3 boat lenghts,the Etec engines likes to be mounted High and need it to acheive max rpm and to turn a decent size prop in comparasion to the competition,trolling heavy for muskie 5-6 days a week 3-4 hrs night for a month I fouled a set of plugs ,at 16.00 a plug it also adds up,knowing what I know now after all the hype would I buy another NO ,am I satisfied with the power,fuel economy Yes,does it start all the time within 1 revouloution yes it does ,it is quite altho it does make some disturbing noises,squeaking ,rattling etc etc but they all do ,ill prob keep this engine as the dealer is less than a mile from my house,my dad is a service tech for BRP ETC ETC ,but all the elec systems and so on .price of the oil ,XD 100 actually was on BO in the later part of the summer whats the deal there I have no idea,YOU cant go wrong with either a Yamaha or Suzuki 4S both solid products,either way good luck and post pics

any engine run off a boat with a built in tank should be seperated,Wayne the Etecs come with the on board seperators as well NA NA NA NA

ive got both Loomis and Stcroix there warrantys both suck in the end the store owner usually makes it right,but I gotta ask how hard are you setting the hook dammm

got a 50 inch Samsung lcd flatscreen no problems friends got a 50 inch Panasonic Plasma and swears by it both great tvs,im suprised by the Hitatchi troubles they make awesome power tools

Lew thats awesome ,I wish I had some of my toys from my childhood,my parents said I either totaly destroyed them or tore it apart to see what made it tick then lost interest or parts lol ,nice find prob ton of memories as well

Brian alot of the diecast are by Jada toys there called Dub City Ole school etc,and thanks I love these trucks,I can thrash these instead of my full size daily driver when the urge comes on lol

the trucks are both mid $350.00 range its the Batts and charger that adds up,get a good set of Batterys they last 15-20 min on a charge,The ONLY place I would buy from now is Ideal Hobby in Barrie ,ask for Gaven Or Andy ,Gaven is the owner and they ship Postal ,I use to deal with Hobby Hobby but there cust service sucks,you can go wrong with electric ,the Emaxx is 4wd takes 2 7.2 volt batts has 2 motors AWESOME machine,the Stampede 2wd takes 1 batt is brushless and set up with the expensive lipo batt and proper gearing will run 65 MPH,I had it out yesterday in the snow ice its very agile,the emaxx will go almost anywhere it will climb stairs in low gear,good luck and let me know what you end up getting,ill post some pics of the trucks in a few minutes

HOOKED Ive got the Stampede brushless its crazy, I run the same batts I run on my EMAXX and it moves great and lasts a very long time ,get your boy the emaxx I love mine 4 wd 2 speed tranny and fast and very durable ,ive also got a new Savage and its a great truck but finicky at times dammm nitro I like electric ,quite and fun
