  11. I, like most have said would only feel bad to have to keep a large mortally wounded fish... but that hasn't happened in a very long time. I pride myself on being a swift hook removal surgeon and I don't let fish "swallow" my bait. I like to keep smaller Crappie and Catfish from cold water, nice pan sized fish. Some people say I'm crazy for some of the fish I throw back, I just look at them and smile. Don't feel bad about keeping smaller fish, pollutants are cumulative and the bigger ones are less fit to eat... they also lay more eggs and spread more milt. Enjoy your responsibly harvested fish, it's your right! Glen

  13. YUP!... what everybody else said!... Welcome Back!!!
  14. I'd like to thank the Root and Core admins for a darn fine job well done!!! Y'all have made this board what it is today and should be very proud of yourselves! I've seen this board change and grow and it has all been for the better. I'd also like to thank the good members of this board, for their time and contributions. The fishing reports are half of what this board is about and it takes alot of time and effort to post them and I thank everyone that has posted one. The "How To" questions and answers, humor, rants, and support (looking for and giving) posts are the other half of this board and adds a certain variety that also adds interest. To me this board is a little more like a family than a community... quite dysfunctional at times... but a family none the less ... and without the fine folks behind the admin. controls it would go to hell in a handbag quickly! So a big THANK YOU to everybody and have a Happy and Safe Holidays!!! Glen
  15. Try it Wayne, you'll like it. It's in the "Paint" section of Wal-Mart, it's what I used to remove the carpet adhesive from the inside of my boat... and the spots that had adhesive over paint, it removed the paint too.
  16. Yup! nice one for Trout Almondine!!! ...and that was catch and release, released into a skillet of hot oil!
  17. Citrus Strip sold at Wal-Mart is the easiest thing I've found, it also needs a temp of about 65*F but has no noxious fumes, isn't flammable and washes off with soap and water... it's REAL GOOD stuff!
  18. Multi, multi, multi-species! Life bis too short for me to just chase one kind of fish!
  19. Looks like somebody has been busy! Looks great Phil!... is that your neighbors house?

  21. Taking bananas on a fishing trip would be the same as playing AC/DC on the biggest boom box you could find in your tree stand while deer hunting.
  22. 1.That isn't a superstition Beans... it's a fact!!! 2.I always catch more fish if I don't wear a shirt! 3.Lungelarry Posted Today, 03:39 PM Never brag to your fishing partner if your having a good day, cause the tide WILL turn...... This is also a fact! 4.If you see Wildlife moving (Deer, Turkeys, Rabbits, etc.) while traveling to your fishing destination, you'll have a good day. 5.I've also found if you don't put the plug in the back of the boat... the bilge will be cleaner when you return home than when you left, so if you want your bilge cleaned out.......... 6.You will always catch a lot more and bigger fish the day before a tournament, than the day of the tournament. 7.No mattter how large or small, always take a picture of the first fish of the day. 8.It always helps to hold some small fish captive or "hostage" in the livewell. 9.Never eat seafood the night before a fishing trip... steak is the best "luck" food for fish. 10.Bananas and the people that bring them onboard should be disposed of as soon as found!!!... do you understand this Maureen? I hope these help.

  24. I think the wife has picked her out a new winter wardrobe of sweaters fron Vicdoggia's Secret and Fredricks of Doggywood!
  25. She is getting a litle bit better every day Lew, the gashes on her left hind quarter are almost healed up. But she still has to wear the steel contraption that holds her jaw together for another 3 weeks. ... and unfortunately her left front leg will never "heal", it is little more than a "wet noodle" and has to be worn in a sling (we tuck it inside of the sweater), but she is becoming more proficeint at "motoring" on 3 legs and can keep her balance better and can even "run" at a pretty good clip for short bursts that will get longer as her stamina improves... and she says Thank You very much for asking about her, and she loves all critter lover people!
