  1. Heres an idea, I work in health care, in Er specifically and a big dilemma is patient transfer out of the hospital, specifically wheel chair bound patients or limited mobility patients. Right now the only option for people who can't walk to a taxi is Ontario Patient transfer which essentially is 2 man ambulance type crew who puts the pt on a stretcher. There are no wheel chair accessible taxis availble without a 4-5 day advance notice. If you could supply the wheelchair and deliver the pt with assistance into their home where they would have their supports available ie walker..it would save the hospital immense amounts of money and put some into your own pocket
  2. Thats the problem is that i too, feel well looked after with state farm, the problem is putting a value on customer service and is it worth the extra doe.....
  3. One of the booths for the spring fishing show was Northstar Marine Boat Insurance in Barrie, the prices are very competitive and the coverage seems very good as well, with agreed or replacement cost versus depreciation value. I was wondering if anyone had any dealings with them? good or bad, I am currently with State Farm, and they are offering a pollciy with similar coverage for a couple hundred cheaper. They advertise as marine only and was hoping for some opinions, Thanks Moe
  4. when your giving camera time to the camera guy talking about fart noises on a fishing show, you have defintetly lost it....Bring back Urban Outdoor Adventures and add Getting Hooked....
  5. Macgregor bay on manitoulin and hopefully lots of time right in back yard on lake O chasing some kings
  6. That was an awesome read, cheers for putting that together, one thing I always wondered was why does the season end so early? Does it not carry one into the later summer?
  7. Bly is right on with the gastro diagnosis, not the flu.......This year has actually been an extremely mild case for the flu, In hamilton, there has only been around 10 positive cases of influenza.....hope this warm spell doesn't jinx it
  8. As I was was watching WFN, I got to thinking that I haven't seen this show aired in quite a long time and Shaun's website seems to be a little out of date? Anyone know what's up? I enjoyed the show and was curious.....
  9. Bills bait in Hamilton is selling a once piece suit Helly Hansen for I believe $179, it's on my wish list for under the tree
  10. Awesome show, loved it! it was nice to see a unique species that hasn't been profiled before, Great fishing show too with not a lot of fluff, I would have been interested with the fill in on info of what the dead bait was though
  11. I don't think anyone knows what going to happen, first merril lynch was saying in July that prices next year were going to be 120 a barrell, then in September it was going to be 90, then they changed again saying it would be 50, now again saying it will be $25 next year, It could up again next month and they would just change the forecast again, because really they have no clue
  12. Thanks Bob and George, you two guys definetly opened my eyes to fishing the southwest corner...hope to bump into both you agains soon
  13. One more thing that I want to add, is about some of the pin heads fishing from shore at the thames. one guy I saw caught a low 40's fish and another gent netted the fish for the guy, but the guy doing the netting purposely whips the fish out of the net onto to the gravel, doesn't want to touch the fish while he gets the hooks out and then kicks the fish back over the sidewall and 5 foot drop! If you don't want to touch the fish, don't fish for them!
  14. Unsure of exactly how long the last fish was, I brought an old tape measure with, but it got stuck at 40"! and i discovered using a metal tape measure in the water is not that easy....i should have taken a pic of the other side of that fish, as it had one eye and busted jaw....real ugly sucker.....probably why it was so skinny
  15. Haven't posted a report in a long time and I still enjoy all eveybody elses posts, so heres some pics form last weekend on lake St.Clair, fished out of a crowded area, but all are fish came out in the lake, fish were caught on 10" perch coloured baits jakes and nils, hope to get out again early next week, heres the pics Just to add a pic in, this is a pick I took off an early morning off bronte, can't wait till spring!
  16. I used a Depth Raider speed and temp probe for the first time on lake O, definetly changed how and where to fish, can't imagine going out without it now, best $400 I spent imo
  17. That is good to hear that the big box stores offer good service too, I am curious about the cabelas canada though?
  18. Give yourself a pat on the back as well, great story
  19. You can still get the classic chips from Navionics, Just talk to any dealer and they should be able to set you up. I got my chip last spring through proctor Marine in Simcoe for something around 115 dollars, Just makle sure that you specify what unit it is for. The classic Chip for lake erie actually includes Lake Ontario to Bowmanville, Lake Erie and Lake St clair, which gives you some more options. Cabelas actually has the Lcx 15 mt units on for $79 but there are sold out... would have been a steal http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...21404-cat601812
  20. In erie, I usually have better luck closer to the bottom this time of year, down 65 and 75, and you don't need that long of a lead, sometimes under 10ft works well, dipsey seem to produce more than downriggers though, good report and better luck next time, gotta love that lake erie chop

    JOBS

2nd on the man-nurse list......usually I hear "focker" most of the time lol...which quite a few of my friends are quite fond of the little moniker, Work in ER, crazy at times but work 4 days, have 5 off with all the OT one would want
  22. Well at least the guy that "fishes only for money" posts some great reports instead of keeping info confidential on Ontario FISHING net Community. Whether he fishes for money or not, who cares? Even if the pics were off paying customers and not children I stil think it would valuable information, Keep up the informative posts Jen and fishmaster
  23. After doing a bit of research, I ended up picking up 2 deep cycle marine batteries from Acme battery in Hamilton, which are made by Deka, which after a short google search seem to be decent, 2 large batteries with 810 mca and a 225 reserve capacity for $110 a piece after receveing a small deposit for 6 old batteries, plus there is no extra "recycling charge" as per ctc, and I believe the capacity's were better than the largest nautilus available, only down side is they only have a 1 year replacement warranty, no prorated warranty so we'll see
  24. Some of the infomarcials are annoying but beats having to wait till saturday morning to catch some fishing shows
