  10. Lots of deer. I mean tons of them up and down the river. Also the odd pack of wild dogs.
  11. Im going to start using that technique Lew. No pics again eh. HHHUUMM ever see a movie called Harvey.
  12. Thats the stretch of river I grew up on over 35 years ago Jedi. My two favourites spots were in the pool below the rapid at the gravel conveyor belt and the big long flat stretch at the end of Forwell Rd near the waterplant. Good to know it still produces fish.
  13. Bill if all your looking to do is get the musky monkey off your back go to Head Lake in the town of Haliburton. It is the surest thing to sure fire for musky that I know. Ive taken many people there to get their first fish. You wont be going wrong. This lake was recommended to me 17yrs ago by Rocky C and it has never failed to produce for anyone including my 8 yr old son who caught this one all by himself his first ten minutes on the lake. He caught three more that in the next 5 hours before calling it a day. FISH ON!!!! Easier to release from shore If an 8yr old can do it so can you Bill
  14. The Jury is still out. Things move very slow in taxonomis classification circles. Took forever to reclassify steelhead, auroura trout, sunapee trout and walleye. The whole freaking world has to agree before any change will be made. It is still just a hypothesis. But one in which I am a firm believer. Its a good explanation for the size difference between kawartha fish and others as well.
  15. Actually Dr Bernard Lebeau is doing work trying to prove that there is two distinct sub species. Riverine and Lacustrine Link http://www.chippewaflowage.com/musky_study.html I beleive eventually his findings will become an accepted truth.
  16. Great report. Great times with the family. Cant wait for my family vacation now.
  17. Hey Rich you ever hit up Teeterville above the dam I 've got some really nice bass outta there.
  18. Thats an awesome pic of a marten. Ive never seen one in the wild just their fur on drying racks.
  19. Great Report. Thats one huge pike. Very girthy!!! Sounds like you have a great family and enjoy a wonderful outdoor lifestyle together. Your daughter is one tough cookie. My 16yr old son whines like a little girl when the black flies have him chewed up like that.
  20. Standard KW rule NO PHOTO =NO FISH . We need visual evidence. Eyewitness testimony is so unreliable.
  21. I cant see how two would be able to fish out of a 12ft. Personally I use a 17 and with gear and a cooler anything smaller would be unsuitable.
