  1. Trout Season in the park Closes on the 30th of this month So this weekend is the last weekend. That being said all kinds of opportunities outside the park with year round angling for splake/brook trout
  2. Free Launch in Haliburton on Head Lake. You can access Grass and Kash from there
  3. My speckle rod is a custom 5 foot GL2 that I built and I love it for the price. More than my old one which was an IMX
  4. Also Big Hole River Grayling before their wiped out.
  5. Yeah since the campsites went private the only one that 's near the west gate that you can be sure is open is Cannis Bay. Not to far of a drive back though.
  6. On some notty tribs the juvenile chinnook outnumber the rainbow yoy by 20 to 1
  7. With barbless musky fishing I find I get better hook set
  8. And a lot of the info the park has is deliberately misleading. Every angler I know that is a regular there, when creel surveyed lies thru their teeth as to how the fishing was and where they caught fish
  9. Algonquin is a pretty pressured spot. I don't think your going to get a lot of help. Your going to have to go through all the hit and miss that the rest of us have. The stuff that Fishlogic posted is a good place to start. Your going to need a canoe, some effort, and time to dig out the good stuff.
  10. Thanks for the read. I think I've read a reproduction before. It must be nice to own one of the originals.
  11. Head up the 400 to the Mass provincial park. Canoe into Port Rawson Bay and enjoy the fishing and the scenery. PS you have to canoe all your gear inTent food etc.
  12. First Line of complaint on my divorce papers.... He spends all his time fishing.
  13. Birchcliff is nice. Use to be first come first serve for the cabin but now you have to book it. Its doable in a day but we use a motor from Access 1 to Bigger and then lock it to a tree to get you there quicker. If water is low in the creek the going can be tough. It's a lot of work BECAUSE THERE IS NO FISH THERE
  14. The best scenery for walleye is my kitchen. Some nice fish and some great photos.
  15. I was thinking whitefish and cisco's but having seen them wack wishmaster baits I'm sure a small salmon isn't off the menu
  16. Those points off those islands are going to be great musky feeding areas
  17. My buddy caught fish in the bow of the canoe so don't ignore casting its productive
  18. Gramps is the tackle store in Temagami. Dana I was trolling on those lakes you've seen the results.
  19. To go on the cheap for your line Dana run a tiny barrel swivel with 30" of floro 4 lb test to your lure. In the lakes your fishing thats what I do from my 8 lb braid. I like to paddle one guy trolling (paddler) bow man casting to cover. Paddling gives a nice erratic motion to the lure. And Roy's idea is a good one for trolling and is also the way I ice fish for them (minus the trolling part)
