  1. Too bad Dev. Theres always this fall for more pics.
  2. They were nice fish from what I can remember by the pics on his cell phone. He got them down river from me that day. Course I'm too lazy to walk down river, figures ! Hey Shinny just send the pics to me and I'll post them for ya
  3. Hey bud...I see you finally made it to OFC

  4. Hey Dev,welcome aboard Just to fill you all in to who this new kid on the block is he's a young fella who over the years has been growing up with us on the river. First time I met Devin he was about 8 or 9 years old watching us fish for steel from the riverbank in his rubbers. Over the years he's showed a lot of interest always asking questions, picking up a lot of good tips and finally making his way out of his rubber boots into a pair of waders. Also inherited some nice float fishing equipment from his big river brothers and now stands with us catching steel like a seasoned pro at 14. Just recently Devin has decided to take up fly tying. Its been two weeks now and he's a real natural being able to tie some sweet steel head patterns... Anyhow welcome again to OFC Dev.....
  5. Kinda reminds me of a squid
  6. What you talkin bout Wayne ?? That was a fresh one with some mighty fine head on it. You must be drinkin that watered down store bought brew that doesn't hold a head on it for more than 10 seconds
  7. Come and get it !! :tease: :tease:
  8. I'm into old school stuff so I tie a simple lindy rig with a floating jig head and hook the leach once through the sucker. I feel I get a good natural presentation with this set up. Also use this with night crawlers if the leeches aren't working. If you want to use fluorocarbon its up to you but I never had any problems hooking up walleye on my main line which is usually no more than 8lb test of some kind. Good Luck !!
  9. Thanks for the reminder Roy. I got Kevin well trained though. He's been stocking them on his wall along with all my rigging hardware just incase
  10. Bring lots of white spinner baits For the walleye well everything mentioned above is dead on.
  11. A previously mentioned store in London that has taken a big step forward is "Angling Sports" . New owner has given the place a face lift and now you can hardly get a parking spot out front of the store
  12. Lindy rig set up with a floating jig head if your dragging bottom. If your anchored or on a slow drift then regular jig head bounced of the bottom.
  13. Nice rig Brian !! Good luck with the new direction your taking your truck driving career.
  14. OK,your on the money then Sean...I would go with a WF floating line...
  15. OK,your fly reel should be identified as to what weight line it can take. The fly line you want is 6,7 or 8 weight for steelhead. Now you have to get a pole to match your reel and line weight. So,you put on an 8 weight line(or whatever) on your reel then you need an 8 weight pole. The backing on the fly reel can be dacron of some kind. Fly shop will have backing and probably set up your reel for you and set you up with a matching pole.
  16. Oh the memories.....
  17. My 2004 F150 does it there and back from London for about 25 bucks on a bad day. Time for a tune up Dave
  18. Same here...Ended up chucking it in the garbage
  19. Move downstream. Rainbows are probably feeding on sucker spawn
  20. Naaaa, you don't suck..You just need to refine your methods a little...Lot of guys get frustrated with steelhead at first but I bet if you spent a day with any one of our more successful steelheaders on this board you would pick up on a lot of little details you may have been overlooking.
  21. Yes,treadmills are a great tool for dogs. Nothing inhumane about that. Trainers use them all the time.Just takes a little practice at first. Also a good heavy chain for a malamute is a must when outside unsupervised. The only reason I know this is one of friends had a full sized malamute and it was the only thing that would hold her. Good strong chain collar as well. Check out this link http://www.cesarsway.com/ Ceasar Millan does some incredible stuff with his dogs and with the owners especially. Good Luck !!
  22. Go Chiropractic !! I have a history of slipping in and out of sciatica because of a lower back problem and every time I go and see my friend Jeff. He is an amazing therapist. So if your in the London/Byron area I highly recomend you go see him www.kaychiropractic.com
  23. Welcome to OFC finally, Matt
