The coldest Thanksgiving in 100 years for millions in the US https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/19/us/thanksgiving-weekend-weather-forecast-wxc/index.html Well I don't go back 100 years, but this has been one of the worst falls weather wise that I remember.

Like the one from Ohio, it appears to be ready to drop a pound of eggs?

Once it it fall on the calendar here the weather got serious about it! From a fishing aspect it would be one of the worst I can remember weather wise, rain, wind, and early snow.

Glad to hear it was just a fuse and nothing more serious! I used to use moth balls in my garage, but I put them in holders similar to this and just added more every year. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ball-Shaped-Infuser-Filter-Diffuser-Tea-Strainer-4-3cm-Dia-Silver-Tone-4-PCS/168784588 -
It's no different on the south side of Erie, temps are running 15 - 20 degrees below normal for this time of year, snow on the ground and windy. Most years I didn't think of putting the boat up for the season until after Thanksgiving day here, a lot of years I could have waited almost until Christmas. Previous years, look at the dates, it hasn't been a good year for fall boating on Lake Erie.

Like 40 years ago I was buying bait at a bait shop in Pointe Au Baril and the guy tried to put one in my bucket, since I had never seen one before I stopped him and asked what is that? He called it a moon eye, and I passed on that one for bait, just didn't know if it was a legal species for bait. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coregonus_hoyi

Akri, I watched this video and was able to call the guy that made it. He also seems to think the problem is a fuse under the cowl. He said one is the power supply fuse and asked if your trim - tilt was working and I told him no. He didn't have both fuses in stock to look at them, but he said it was like an inch and and eighth or a little longer. Any Yamaha dealers near you or on your way north you can call? He said the filament inside the fuse is a little different than a standard auto fuse, but for an emergency situation one of them might work. -

Well sadly I can't seem to find out what exactly the function is for either of those two fuses, but with one being a 20 amp and the other a 30 amp they seem to be intended stop power to something that draws a fair amount of power. A call to a Yamaha dealer might give you a better idea? Just guessing they have had the issue arise before? -

Akri, my motor was older too, even older that yours, an 86 35hp Merc, it had a glass fuse. One day while out fishing I went to start the gas motor and no deal, but it seems to me that it would crank like hell but just not start. It had been running fine all morning, we were in sheltered water, fishing docks in marinas, so I went inside one of the marinas and asked if they had a clue and the guy mentioned the under cowl fuse. I bought a tin of them and replaced the old one and all was good. That doesn't help you much as your problem does seem to be different if you have no power to anything? Trying to power thru weeds with my trolling motor one day and heard and heard a noise from the foot pedal, smelt burnt wiring and lost power to the trolling motor, one of the spade connectors had burnt in half, also an easy fix because I could see the problem. No real idea on your problem, but if you have no power to anything? I would start at the battery and check wires, connections and fuses in the circuit. A simple circuit tester should let you know where the power ends? -

https://www.crowleymarine.com/yp/PG404134/electrical-2-s130tlrw-1998-130hp Seems to me you have a 130 hp? 30 and 31 shows a fuse of some kind. -
One of my son's buddies hit one with his car over the weekend, luckily just minor damage, it's the rut and they are all over the place here. Man attacked by deer this was a news story a few days ago, they are wild animals, beware!

I'll bet the price is uglier?

Just a trace here Brian with winds up to 40 mph, although our typical eastern Ohio snow belt along the lake could get 6 inches. The weather here the last couple of weeks with cooler than normal temps and a lot of windy days makes it pretty easy for me to understand the sort of slow changes in the leader board of that Lake Erie walleye thing going on now, it hasn't been great weather for boats to get out on Erie, and with up to 10 foot waves crashing against the shore line at times it limits that too! Hope you get some good ice, I know a lot of you guys enjoy that kind of fishing.
-
LOL, we have snow on the ground here! So your ice up there must be a foot thick by now?

Sir, especially early in WW2, Great Britain entered in Sept. of 39, the USA was neutral and none of the Allied countries were geared up for war production. They didn't start to get a handle on things until late 42 early 43 as far as shipping losses in the Atlantic.
-
One of my uncles was a merchant seaman during WW2 and was on a ship that was torpedoed, he survived, but most of the crew didn't. The allied shipping losses early in that war were basically nothing short of horrific. Picture crossing the Atlantic at a blazing 8 -12 knots? With subs hunting for you and little or no protection? A question about salvaging a NG stove grate
OhioFisherman replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
LOL, no problem Old, it's not like I can do much these days, so any help I can give helps to keep me occupied in between naps. If you want message me with the model number of that stove and a picture or link to the part you need? There was an appliance repair shop in my area and the guy had like an old appliance boneyard, no telling what he may have for parts, if he is still in business. -
