  4. my in laws live nearby, i've always been tempted to take a few casts but never have... i've seen big largies in the little ponds adjacent to the marina, but never casted. ive seen guys pull big browns from the mouth of the marina inlet in the fall as well.
  5. look like heaven to me... do you guys drive all the way up? how long did it take?
  6. i scored my 209 in similar fashion... took it apart, cleaned her up and it works perfectly now. i spooled five colours with 50lb powerpro as backing
  7. well said CookSlav!!
  8. wow... tell us how you REALLY feel Dark one! your generalizations are almost as frightening as this story....
  9. (I don't fish anymore just dream) LOL... you must've gotten married recently to... I feel your pain!
  10. Parry Sound water snakes must be high then... they swim right for you in the water, like i said, never been bit and i know...they are NOT venomous
  11. these are all over teh parry sound area! they swim right at you while floating around on the noodle... have to admit i haven't let em get to close, wonder if they will bite in the water?? i know those really poisonous sea snakes wouldn't dare to bite you while in the water they are pretty aggressive nonetheless
  12. persistance pays on the Bay... ive made a few trips out there with no more than a follow, while worth the wait regardless beautiful waters stick to moon river, with a 14' tinny it isnt that bad, just stay away from the big open waters. hell...Reefrunner and I have traversed that area in canoes several times
  13. CTC has Rapala Line counters for $20... i havent tried em yet but will buy one when i attempt to use the Dipsys i bought at the sportsman show in the spring.
  14. canal is a great lake...i like the other side opposite the boat launch. lots of pike in there in the 24-30 inch range largies get BIG in canal!! maybe cause they have sooo much cover, im not sure, but you can always pull out a bigun while working weedlines. walleye, muskies and smallies are far and few between but can be found. search for deep water while your there...i think the average depth is about 8ft. so if you find anything 13' or more your golden! good luck, report back im sure Reffrunner will put his two cents in once he finishes mopping the floor and checks his OFC...
  15. 5.10lbs
  16. what a perch, looks a bit like a peacock bass!
  17. if your going during the week check out Massassauga Provincial Park. Lots of nice routes, sites, and the fishing is good. you might have a hard time reserving a spot there on the weekend, but you never know... check out ontarioparks.com
  18. saw one right downtown at lunh today in toronto (spadina adn wellington) just puttin it out there, you never know
  19. i used the Senkos this weekend and am HOOKED!!! what a great bait! i was a die hard texas rigged fan and have switched to a die hard Senko fan. I did try to hooking methods Weedless (Texas Style, less the weight) and Wacky. although i caught fish on both, i noticed that when flipping into pads and grass that the texas stays weedless, whereas the wacky doesnt. it also seemed a bit trickier to set the hook on wacky, but that might be a practice issue.... the texas rigged worked beautifully! hit on almost every cast! the worms had a short life span though...was using Gulp Senkos i will use the o rings next time, makes sense to me. thanks for all the input
  20. nice....
  21. smallmouth and lakers... smallmouth fishing is pretty good,at times laker fishing is tough at best. keep in mind no motors on the lake. nice park, nonetheless enjoy
  22. ha ha ... the canoe was already there for us... mind you i have a 90lb canoe that i have used for other portages...to cheap to splurge on the $30/day rental
  23. Great idea on the mud! teh skeeters were relentless, absolute swarms. worst part is your haulin about a 100lbs of gear and cant break for more than 2 minutes or they get ya! i agree, it is strange that only largies inhabit these lakes. it would be nice to find one with similar smallmouth action. our next mission is to a nearby lake (1km river but i have a feeling its full of beaver dams) that has lakers, smallies AND of course LARGIES
