  1. I was able to change the output to a jpeg. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. I have one of my favorite fishing pics from the mid-1980's that I recently scanned but it is in Adobe Acrobat format. The quality is poor. I'd like to change the format and perhaps email it to a volunteer to try to improve the quality. Any takers?
  3. Nice boat! Too bad it's not a tiller!
  4. My wife would have jumped in that clerk's arms and kinked me to the curb!
  5. That's hilarious.......now stop sitting on the fence and tell us what you really think!
  6. Wah! My fingers cold Wah! I'll bet as a kid playing cops and robbers, he had a sawed off shotgun!
  7. That reminds me of a joke my Newfie father-in-law told me (one of thousands) Two Newfies are selected by Nasa for their next trip to the moon. Upon arrival one says "you stay here and tend to the shuttle while I go out and colllect some rock samples." After an hour he returns to the shuttle and knocks on the door to which his fellow astronaut responds........ "Who is it?"

  9. Aren't brass monkeys where cannon balls were stored on war ships?
  10. Where's your sense of humour? The humorous posts and threads on OFC are second only to the great fishing information. It is one of the reasons I visit daily and would hate to see it discouraged. I'm not trying to stir up anything but it sounds like there may have been a previous issue to trigger that response. I thought the thread was great because not only did you get some great advice, but some funny comments as well.
  11. Shovel in the shed....shed blocked by snow.....That's more ironic than a one legged waitress working at the IHOP.
  12. That's what I figured. Wise decision....you never know.
  13. Nice score! (pun intended) Just curious to know, why are the barcodes covered up in the pics?
  14. Express168 You and I are in similar shoes. I too live in Stoney Creek and leave the house early to beat the traffic into the GTA. Been doing it for 16 years and am sick of it. The thought of starting my own service based business weighed on my mind heavily. I'm a follower of the Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad) series of books and have learned a great deal. He recommends if at all possible, start a business on a part time basis. That will give you the experience without jumping in with both feet. Don't know if that is an option for you. I did this back in 2002 (electronic repair-barcode scanners) and it provides a little extra cash flow each month but I have not dedicated the time needed to grow it. The commute and long work days does not leave much time. The problem with a paycheck is that your earnings are limited to the number of hours in a day. With your own business, your earnings are limited only by your effort. As you can see by the number of responses. You will get several examples of both success and failure. The important part is to understand you only fail if you give-up. Having a business plan is crucial. You have to be able to offer potential customers something the competition can't. Quite often that something is a better price. The competition already have the advantage. I say go for it! Good luck
  15. I couldn't help but notice there were numerous members listing Neil Young as one of their favourites. Here is a rare link of Neil Young busking on the streets of Glasgow. The song "Old Laughing Lady". Didn't think much of it the 1st time I watched it, but took a 2nd look and realized how incredible it must have been to witness it live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=900Jei5vIsU
  16. Favorite Genre - Classic Rock Favorite Band(s) Toss up between Neil Young and The Tragically Hip Most Underrated - Amanda Marshall (incredible voice) Buffalo Springfield Most Overrated U2....I just don't see the attraction (I know against popular opinion)
  17. That's an incredible looking release shot. I gotta get out fishing!
  18. You should have photoshopped out the puddle in that last pic. Now everyone knows. Oh yeah.........nice lookin pike!
  19. Lowrance manuals including the one for yours are available on their website. Yo have the ooption of viewing it or downloading it. They show how to make the connections. http://www.lowrance.com/manuals/default.asp Last year I found almost that exact model in a field near my home. I tried to locate the rightful owner with no success. I took it to the Lowrance office in Mississauga. They bench tested it and said it was good. Just need to buy a transducer, power cables etc.
  20. Great pics! Yummy perch! I have got to find my way up to the Trent Severn system one day.
  21. How about The Liars Lair
  22. I work as an Electrical/Electronic Technician. Currently employed as Technical Support for a company that imports commercial and industrial cleaning equipment from Europe and sell it through a network of Dealers throughout Canada and the U.S. who inturn sell to hospitals, school boards etc. Motorhead & Fishindevil you guys have probably used some of our equipment. Prior to that I repaired barcode scanners and weigh scales for the Point-of-Sale industry for 12 years. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would like one day to become a licensed Electrician but to work as an apprentice would mean a drastic cut in pay
  23. Thanks to all for your valuable input. I will continue to do my homework but am now leaning toward the Diawa 27. A line counter is an absolute must for me. Thanks again!
  24. I recently received a gift card for BPS and am looking forward to using it. I need a setup for trolling walleye on Lake Erie and salmon on Lake Ontario (with downriggers and planar boards). I've heard a lot of good things about Okuma reels. First of all, what is another name for a level winder reel? I'm looking to spend about $100.00. Any recommendations?
