  1. I've seen this list numerous times and the most important one is always left off...... 1) If you don't want the genie to come out, don't rub the lamp!
  2. Thanks for posting this as well as the details in the Announcements. I did not see starting and ending dates for the sale and if the items listed were for the duration of the sale or on specific days. Any idea? (I know, I know why not just pick up the phone and call. That's the next step)
  3. I'll definetely try to attend. I'm long overdue to meet some fellow OFNCers and learn a little about fishing in the area
  4. I just learned over email that my 14' Lund curently stored in my brother's backyard was 3/4 full of water now that everything has melted. Sure enough, I forgot to take the drain plug out last fall. This is the first year I couldn't store it indoors. I am afraid to go look at it. Any ideas what to expect? Remember, it takes a brave man to admit his mistakes...or is should that read "foolish".
  5. Congratulations Roger. Nice lookin setup. Niagara escarpment in the background no doubt!
  6. I had a good view of that ice on our return flight from Tampa into Buffalo yesterday afternoon. Amazing how large those sheets of ice looked even from up there. I believe they are able to control the amount of ice that travels down river via the ice booms. Not sure if Queenston is navigable.
  7. Just my like. I finally get some vacation time, 1st time south in 7 years and it causes me to miss such a great opportunity to meet other anglers in my neighbourhood. To make it worse, a chance to learn a little about fishing the eastern basin of Erie. Wish I could attend.
  8. Here are a few from Nipissing June 2006. This storm chased us off the water and was a close call. A tornado touched down in the bay next to us. http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/uploads...83_51_38006.jpg
  9. Stop............my stitches..
  10. Wow! Alot of great pictures.
  11. Well said Dan. I have been on since 2001 (I think). You would never guess by my post tally. Can't ever imagine leaving. I think the reason why this topic comes up so often is that because as mentioned so often, it is like a family and when long time members go misssing, we tend to miss their input. Funny how you can miss people you've never met!
  12. Great responses! I ued to tease my mom when I was a kid that I was going to make off with some of her earings and use them or lures. I guess that explains the lack of trust.
  13. Just a few pics. The black lab is one of my brothers hunting dogs and competes in amatuer retrieval trials. The yellow is our family pet which is retired from competition.
  14. Last year I had in-laws visit from Labrador and they brought pictures with them of some of their local fishing spots. Many great pics of brook trout. They told of one particular day when the bite was so hot they quickly ran out of bait and resorted to gummi bears which worked just as well. It got me thinking, what is the strangest bait you've caught fish with? Yes I'm bored and the boat is still in storage. HG
  15. I believe the correct term is "more stupid" so the answer to that question would be yes! (just kidding.....sorry couldn't resist )
  16. Harley....Everyone wants to ride it!
  17. She's going to kill you!
  18. I'll second that. In particular Neil Young's Deep Forbidden Lake
  19. I second the CAA recommendation. Been with them since I started driving about 20 years ago. Roadside service is great. Battery boosting, will bring you gas if you run out, will jimmy your locks if you lock your keys in. I would go with the "plus" membership as opposed to the regular. They will tow up to 250kms as opposed to 10km with the basic membership. Check out all they offer on their website. They have ticket discounts for amusement parks, hotel discounts, we booked our honeymoon through their travel agency. Kudos to you for offering her some guidance.
  20. I'd say he's targetting you and maybe his daughter put him up to it?
  21. This one sounds great and I have got to try it at some point. The other walleye/baccon recipes sound good as well, but don't the bacon and dressing overpower the taste of the fish. I still love Fishcrisp (original and Cajun). I just picked up the Uncle Bucks Original at Bass Pro and can't wait to try it.
  22. Wait 'til I get my hands on that little rodent. 3-4 inches of snow here in Stoney Creek lots of little drifts and very high winds. I say open season on groundhogs!
  23. That's hilarious! Caffeine Enema I've never heard of. Yogurt yes but caffeine.....never!
  24. Look for the guy in the aquarium with a regulator and tank.(JK Roger)
