Highlight of the show for me was seeing the Ltd Edition Lund and the fish & chips! Regular prices on the tackle and electronics from what I saw, and the $15 entry fee (It's not like you get something for your money...) plus $5 parking is a bit much... No wonder people don't go...picture the average family $30 before you are inside the building (Probably more since I think you had to pay for kids) Tony

Suds, I'd be happy to spend a day fishing with you near where I live either on the Credit River or Bronte Creek. Spring is just around the corner Cheers, Tony

LOL I have that exact same game! Nobody will ever play with me though I used to play with my brother and parents and they would accuse me of cheating saying that I knew where the biggest fish placeholders were ( I would place all those little cardboard pieces), so they would just follow my boat around and fish where I was fishing Bob actually has hair! Good times! Tony

Liberals take legal action over MPP's autism fight

This is just another sickening example of taxpayer $ misuse. When will they have a 'None of the above" option in the voting polls? (Yes you can turn in your card blank or not vote at all but it wouldn't have the same effect as the election winner being "None of the above") Just tired of the never ending lies and bullcrap regardless of what party is elected. Cut your fillets into strips the width of the bacon. Coat the fish in your favorite seasoning then lay on top of the bacon strip, roll it up, then stick it on a skewer and cook it up over the open flame! When the bacon is crispy the fish kebab is done! Enjoy!

Welcome suds! How would you rate the steelhead/salmon fishery here in Lake Ontario compared to out West? Tony

You will catch less juvenile trout in the spring in streams if you DO NOT use roe. For the big spawned out fish, artificials will work 5 to 1 (my experience anyway) Tony

I guess it seems the only way people will actually believe we are having an impact on the environment, is for a mass tragedy to occur, such as the flooding outlined in the movie 'An Inconvenient Truth'. When millions or billions of people have to die in order for us to take notice, do you think it's time we start to change our ways? mmmm GOLD BARS! or.... THE ENTIRE PLANET! Good times! Tony Oh yeah, let's say one day the whole environmental thing was discovered as a hoax, would we really be that worse off by becoming more environmentally aware today?

When you stop to think about it, almost all the best seafood are bottom feeding scavengers Lobster Halibut Crab Whitefish So it would only make sense that Catfish are great eating (they are by the way ) And although I haven't tried Ling, Carp, or Suckers I bet that they aren't so bad at all either. Which style of waders are better in cold weather?
tonyb replied to Canuck2fan's topic in General Discussion
I can only give you my personal experience. I have a pair of Bare neoprene waders (5mm - Stocking foot) that are very comfortable in cold, cold water. I still need to step out of the water and move my toes around after a bit in really cold weather, but I am usually comfortable in them fishing up til Dec 31 every year. The waders are about 10 years old and I have abused them! I had to re-attach the knee pads because the glue seemed to have broken down (Aquaseal is great!) but other than that no other problems. My complaint as you may have already guessed after reading their thickness at 5mm is that they are too HOT when it isn't freezing out. I am planning on going to a pair of breathables by next fall. I have asked people with breathables how they fare in colder temperatures and I have heard the same thing from everyone. Treat them as if they were rain pants, and dress in layers underneath for your warmth as they have no insulating properties such as Neoprenes do. If your feet really get cold you can always toss one of those disposable 'hot pockets' into each sock to keep your toes warm. I have done this before but it is a good idea to have a pair of socks between you and the hot pack Hope this information helps! Tony -
As a secondary plan, consider trying at the mouth of any of the major tributaries that flow into Lake O. You may be pleasantly surprised to find some good fish activity with the milder conditions forecasted Tony

So sorry to hear of the heartaching news. I am a dog lover and a cat lover now too, and they are family members not pets. Cliff, you have a way with words, that's a great way of putting it. I have a soft spot for our furry pals, this is choking me up. Sad for you, Tony

You may want to consider a transmission and oil cooler if you plan on towing long distance with it (So I've heard anyway when towing with small engines) Tony

Deserving Of an OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD . . . .

Mike and one staff member is great (Can't recall his name, younger guy with glasses). They could get rid of a couple of the other guys there, I see no place in a tackle shop for ego's and arrogance. Tony
