  1. It's a conspiracy! Thanks for the interesting read Squid. Tony
  2. nyuk nyuk nyuk
  3. I agree with what John is saying. Also, I think that Catch & Release records are more impressive, but more difficult to prove legit. Tony
  4. You tell us! Looking forward to the report. I would imagine anywhere shallow right now (<10 feet of water) Slooooowwwww is the name of the game, let them get a chance to eat it! Tony
  5. The trout are stirring!
  6. Get up, go to work, consume, go to bed, rinse...repeat.
  7. I think more and more species will attain larger sizes as time passes. Catch and Release is a huge factor in assisting this process. e.g. Who keeps 5lb Bass for the frying pan these days? Tony
  8. Every fish is special! I would say Yellow Perch, Walleye, and Ciscoe would make up a large portion of a Muskys diet depending on the body of water. Tony
  9. I have heard a lot of great things about the Garmin GPSMap 760cx/csx. Heard a guy getting a signal in his basement! never mind forest canopy lol. I have heard less good things about the lowrance units (Look at price...you get what you pay for) Tony
  10. I was fortunate enough to be able to film an episode with Aaron for his show Getting Hooked with Aaron and Barry for Niagara River Steelies! You can catch it on OLN this Sunday at 8:30am or 10:30am and then available online on their website after that. If you haven't experienced drift fishing from a boat for Steelhead on the Niagara, you won't want to miss this episode. We cover a lot of the basics and even manage to catch some fish. The fish were quite acrobatic that day but I am not sure how much of that the cameraman caught on film as I would imagine it is difficult to capture those first leaps when you hook a fresh Steelie. I also caught my biggest steelhead of the year, twice in the same day! The biggest one came near the end of the show on a double-header, what a hog! Hopefully I don't look like too much of an ass on T.V. Check it out Tony
  11. The burlington shipping canal attracts trout and salmon in the spring. It's hit or miss based on my experience but it can be good there. Good luck and welcome to OFC! Tony
  12. Mmmm frying pan candy! GJ on the multi-species report Tony
  13. Cool, look forward to your reports! Tony
  14. Spare me the torture and wait til the 1-month mark. Can you tell I'm jealous of everyone going? Tony
  15. Swedish berry in lieu of a roebag -- Fish on!
  16. Welcome, where do you live and fish? Tony
  17. I think a lot of people who think Lunds are over-priced haven't compared apples to apples. Looking at a 17 foot Legend boat package advertised in a magazine for $13000 and then seeing a Lund Mr. Pike 17 at say $35000 and saying the Lund costs way more is just silly. The Legend boat packages are always way underpowered and you can't even compare them on the same level of quality. It's like comparing a Kia to a Honda in the car market... People who have done their research will realize that prices are comparable, but the quality, warranty, and fishability of a Lund goes far beyond a lot of other boat manufacturers. Tony
  18. Get the Tite-Lok high-speed transducer holder and never look back! I even use it on the ice, just clamp it to a 5 gal pail and have a level transducer set-up in seconds. I wish Humminbird would make an ice transducer that had a foam levelling thing like the Vexilar's have. Tony
  19. as Rick said, proper way is RAP-ala, not ra-pal-a like most people say it.
  20. Probably trying to get into the bass boat market. Ranger should be concerned...
  21. Not much snow left, hopefully the rains are light and this weekend will show some numbers. Break out the shoulderpads! Tony
  22. The sportfishing focus will shift from salmon to carp Tony
  23. Thanks for that link LeXXington, I dunno how I missed THAT! BTW I didn't see those gals at the Rapala booth on Sunday...Doh! Tony
  24. Daiwa over Shimano over Quantum
  25. Some wise words spoken there Terry... I just read an interesting book on the professional bass fishing lifestyle, a good read and an eye opener in some aspects. As for the addiction, isn't that why we are all here on this site? Tony
