  1. Great report Mike. That was a nasty wind for sure. Nice fish Joey
  2. Happy Birthday Mikey Joey
  3. Paul and I headed up to his parent's cottage for our yearly closing of the cottage, shutting off the water and final fish there. The drive was nice and it threatened rain most of the way, but didn't. I noticed most of the trees had lost their leaves and the fall colours are almost gone. The cottage driveway. We unloaded our gear and headed to the other side of the lake to launch the boat. We noticed the wind had picked up as we drove around the lake and by the time we launched, it was quite nasty. Paul drove across and docked and I drove the truck back to the cottage. In this short period of time, it started raining and the wind was getting quite obnoxious It poured the rest of the night with wind gusts up to 80 kph and some thunder and lightening thrown in for good measure The satellite TV came in useful and our BBQ'd shrimp were tasty So we got up this morning and it was a bit more chrisp outside than Saturday, but no rain and the wind had died down a bit. Paul fished with a spinner and I tried a plastic on a weedless. This lake only has bass in it and we're quite familiar with their favorite haunts so we threw what we knew at them. They obviously didn't like the weather pattern that had emerged in the last day as they were not too cooperative. Paul started with this little guy. My lure wasn't producing too well so I took a pic of my favorite rock on that lake, it has two faces. Well, I see faces anyhow Paul caught another little guy and then it started to snow, yes snow Then, bam, he caught a beauty!!! The Bob Izumi hold Looks like it was eating not too badly for this time of year. And.... the release I ended up with the big skunkaroo, but at least I was warm in my new Gore-tex pants from Cabelas So we headed back in, shut off the water and hydro and packed it in til next year. Cheers, Joey
  4. We call ours Crack o' Noon, as that's generally the time we get out on the water Joey

  6. Wonderful report and pics. I got up to let the cat out in the middle of the night last night and could not believe how bright it was out. I thought the porch light was left on. Wish I woulda been fishin out in it. Oh well, I can live vacariously through your report We'll be heading up to close the cottage tomorrow so maybe we can get a bit of moonlit fishing in ourselves. Joey
  7. Wow, that is freaky Lew. Or she was out there with a pack of matches last night while you slept Seriously, things like that happen to me and my mom all the time, its kind of eerie. Definately get her to go buy a lottery ticket, although it never works for me, you just never know. Joey
  8. I also have an extra ticket. Paul can't get off work so if anyone wants to come with me or meet me there for my extra ticket, as Keram said, first come first served Joey

  13. Ya well if they need more ships to carry the extra cargo they make more pollution which makes global warming which changes the weather which makes the summers milder which makes the water levels low, gasp, and so on and so on and so on........ Any excuse will do ya I spose Gouging at its best that's for sure! Joey
  14. Awwwww, jeeeeeez, thanks hon. I couldn't have done it without some help from my friends tho. So yes, today is 2 years sober for me. On the wagon as its called and I'm still strapped in I'd really like to thank some OFNr's for their help. GaryV was there at the beginning, as was Beans and BigCliff with their kind words and wisdom. Lew and Wayne and Chuck make G2G's alot easier on me, and sometimes Art Roy, you've been there for me all the way and encouraged me and even offered not to drink in front of me. Spiel, thanks for the card and calls and words of encouragement! DouG, thanks for the Many calls And of course Paul, my rock, who has been there through the whole thing and has virtually quit himself to make it easier for me (except at G2G's ). Hey, he has an image to live up to, right Big Chief Seriously, you've been awesome hon. So thanks to you all and here's to many more happy, healthy years ahead. Joey
