  2. B, Paul made it home safe and sound, thank God!!! From what I hear there were several tornadoes in the whole Vaughan/Woodbridge area. I'm so glad everyone was alright. Joey

  4. Ohhhhhh, fancy pancy there B!!! Very nice.
  5. Yep, we had one not too far from here. I was out with my mom and I had to pull the car over and wait it out. Wind and rain and lightening - Crazy!!! Mom's apartment had no power when we got back so I had to help her carry her groceries up 10 flights and then light some candles. All the street lights were out and a street close to here was blocked off and there were cop cars everywhere. Paul's at work so have no idea how he made out. Works in Vaughan and was also close to where the tornado touched down. No answer on the phone so they are probably on the fritz. Hope everyone else is okay. Joey
  6. Oh I know the drill Tom. The problem is we damaged the eaves breaking the ice off of it and now we have very little eaves left and some of the soffit got damaged too. So we need to replace all the eaves and some soffit. We were just reminded of this fact with all the rain we got lately. We already tackled the insulation and attic problem and believe me, it was a disaster.
  7. We had a few problems the last few winters with ice dams building up on our eaves. We did a quick fix and chipped away at it to save our attic, and alot of them just broke right off, so now that the weather is nice, we'd like to get it fixed properly. Does anyone do that for a living. I think we'll need the soffit's done aswell. If you do this kind of work or know of someone who does, please let me know. You can PM if you'd prefer. Thanks alot. Joey

  13. You'll get one Tony, I can feel it. You've been doing well by the looks of it. Have you entered any yet? Joey
  14. Hey Doops, a double header is when two rods get a fish on at the same time. So, when trolling for Salmon (or any fish) two rods go off and you have a fish on each one and two people are fighting a fish at the same time. If you are alone, as Tony mentioned, that would be quite hard to do. The fleas are in the water, I'm not sure at what depth they hang out, but they accumulate on the line and build up and then when you are fighting a fish reeling in they all jam up at the tip of the rod and at times you can't reel in anymore. And those are salmon. Thanks for the replies everyone. Appreciate the nice comments. Joey
  15. Well I think they are definately worth it Art. I got Paul one that Spiel made for Christmas. He was so impressed he got Spiel to make me one for my birthday this year. We both love them and use them every chance we get. Joey

  18. It was hot, we fished, we caught fish, the end Started off with this nice one, what a fight, took me forever to get it in. Stuff like this was EVERYWHERE. It was like an obstacle course. Then the Double Header That was fun, and a big mess of lines, but we boated them both. Here are the twins This was a problem all day long - fleas, yuck. Cheers, Joey
  19. Wow Shane, you've certainly been through alot lately. I sure hope this last little hurdle goes as well as expected and we can see you out on the ice by January You're a tough bugger and I have no doubt you'll pull thorugh this just fine. Joey

  22. Our live well would handle that fish (now we just have to accomodate it ). Actually, Paul calls it the "revive well" because that's pretty much what we use it for most of the time. Sweet fish!!! Joey
  23. Here's the full article, and some pretty nasty comments after. North Bay Nugget Article

  25. I thought you were gonna say it was the pike talking to you I used to just grab them by the back the head and grab the pliers and get the hook out. After I grabbed that little snotrocket up at Lakair a few years back and it went ballistic and all three trebles lodged into my hand, whilst the snotrocket continued to go ballistic jamming the trebles in to the bone, I've been a tad shy of doing the same ever since. I just ask Paul to unhook them for me now. I will if I absolutely have to, but do it a bit more gingerely now. Its more like apply the pliers to the hook and shake without touching the fish. Once bitten twice shy I spose. Great story John. Joey
