I cant believe the total lack of respect people have for this beautiful land of ours. It really makes me sick to see stuff like that. Unfortunately there will always be thoughtless people who do things like this. Well on the plus side it sometimes is nice to have a lake to yourself, looks like a nice place despite the bugs.

Good luck Al, hope you get some more big ones. Is mini-me going with you? Wait till you post a pic with one of those suckers that he catches everyone will see what a good fisherman a five year old can be. We are all ready to head up to Crotch lake in the morning, hopefully we will have some good luck, this years weather looks like it will finally co-operate for a change. See ya when we get back Minday night.

Really nasty looking fish wound....
Badger Shark replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
We saw some similar looking marks on pike up here this winter and recently right behind parliment hill. Maybe a wound from a prop or just an infection, hopefully this isnt something that is spreading. -
I have about 10' and attached with a small barrel swivel, it seems to work well.

I just bought the lowrance LMS-334c iGPS. It is a 200khz sonar gps combo, colour display,,480vx480v, internal gps=waas antenna. It has a 5" diaganol screen. There are much larger models available. It has a slot for a reusable sd card up to 1gb I chose this one after going out with eye-tracker for a day on Quinte. He has of course the much more advanced unit but I cant afford that. I bought mine at Gander Mountain in the states for 545 american. Up here at LeBarons it was 845 plus tax. It is a very nice unit. Hope this gives you a start.

Seems very fast to me. Nice to see you guys on top of things.

Hey Hedfish, I just joined about a week ago and already feel right at home here. There are other sites but this is by far the best run one I have found. There is no such thing as a stupid question unless you are Paris hilton or Jessica Simpson then they are all stupid. Sorry, I just found icons I didnt know existed.

Man I really love these Algonquin reports. How cool is that? going in on a film shoot. I would love to do this.

Well I am usually the biggest pessimist when it comes to the Sens but after this game I can say there is no way Buffalo is going to win 4 straight games. This is not the same Ottawa team that we are used to, they have become a TEAM. Any way this season ends up we can finally be proud of the effort they have put forth. So one more and on to the cup! :clapping:

Wow if that was your spring I cant wait to see what your summer is like, I can only hope my season goes half that well.

Now that is a sweet looking pike. Really cool that you can catch a nice fish like that right in the midst of the Big Smoke.

Congrats on the catches. I would have loved to get out today but Unfortunately I had to go to the BB KING concert, :thumbsup_anim: :whistling: :clapping: Man what a show, I loved the ride with the King.

Another local tackle shop goes down!
Badger Shark replied to bigfish1965's topic in General Discussion
That really does suck.. Last year I had bought alot of stuff from LeBarons because it was cheaper than anywhere else, but because of the poor management I started to go to other local Mom and Pop shops. I wish I had done this in the beginning, yes I would have to pay more but for one they are nicer and more personable and the customer actually matters to them. Also with Le Barons, they would run out of stuff pretty quickly that people wanted and it wouldnt come in for a long time or not at all. Apparently they order in bulk and when its gone its gone for a long time. At a particular mom and pop shop I was able to find the stuff I needed everytime I went in and if they didnt have it they would order it. Last year was the first time I went to Quinte and I wanted reefrunners and rapala deep divers, well the big box store didnt carry the reef runner brand at all and they didnt have any rapala deep divers left and never got any until Feb. Bottom line is I would rather shop at the local mom and pop stores. -
Last I saw when I went home the price was still at 1.09.7, but I am willing to bet that tomorrow when I head out it will be at least 1.11 or 1.12 And by next Friday up around 1.20. I went out and filled my towing vehicle yeterday and my car and my boat and three 5 gallon jerry cans in anticipation of the big increase for the long weekend. Total cost.......178.00. Next week at 1.20 ouch dont even want to think about it. Oh well I will be

Umm.... its pretty obvious, you are on a plane And a gas station. Ok Ok enough of the smart ass responses you are in BC. hAVE A GOOD TRIP.

All you need until next year is your birth certificate and drivers license. We went across to the states in March and it is all you need at the moment. But come next year we have to get the passport thing done if we want to cross. Right now if you go by plane or by sea you have to have a passport.

Hey Matt, it really does look like they FINALLY have become a team with confidence. When Buffalo scored that tying goal with 5 sec. left, I thought there was no way they would win and would fold like a cheap tent but after watching the highlights they really seemed composed and not worried. And on another note, have you been out yet? I havent been able to get out because of vehicle issues but I am heading up to Crotch lake for the May long weekend and finally will be out. We should get out some time again and this time I will be ready when that rod goes off with a ski on.

Hi Jen, I tried to enter chat, it came up and said welcome but I couldnt write anything. Not sure how to use it. I am bored as well, waiting for my next delivery run.

Man Rick, thats a little harsh, I agree if you dont need to have a vehicle then choose alternative transportation but for those of us who earn a living with a vehicle, even a small vehicle it really hurts us. In my situation I can not raise my pay to offset the cost, it doesnt work that way I wish it did. And if I said well I am not going to drive anymore if you dont give me more money then the people I work for would say Ok see ya. And I cant do that at the moment. My job is one I have to keep at the moment till my wife, who just finished university, gets a job in her field. Then I can take another job that doesnt require me to do what I am doing. I do see your point though, dont get me wrong. Its just that people are angry because there doesnt seem to be an obvious reason for the increase. The oil companies have conditioned us by increasing then decreasing then increasing even more, so then your happy when the price comes down to 1.00 even though before you were incensed at it being a dollar. Unfortunately it is here to stay and we all have to deal with it one way or another and we will. I for one will not give up the things I love to do. My boat will not be sold for a smaller one, it isnt huge anyway and the gas lasts quite a while. And I will still go places as much as usual, but I will have to curb some things. Such is life. But I think telling the majority to get off their fat rears and walk or take the bus is a bit insulting and unrealistic. I guess you are just sick of us belly achers, but this was an opinion thread and I can respect yours just as I am sure you can respect the others. And no boycotting wont help and its just not going to happen, if you need gas you are going to get it. And why cant the government cut some of the tax on gas? It would make everyone feel a bit better. I will tell you why, because they are making so much money of it. The gas tax that is supposed to go into fixing roads certainly hasnt been applied around this area. The roads are in horrible shape all over the place and have been for a couple years now, where is it going then? Ok beating a dead horse here, sorry for my rant, but Rick you got me going a bit, I am fine now. Good debate.

Man I love these Algonquin reports, it really makes me want to get out and do this. Someday I have to give it a try. Thanks for the report.
