  1. They're tin, for the Tinman of course.
  2. Another note about sunglasses and being out on the water. It doesn't hurt to take a quick look at the sky every now and again without the glasses on. I've found that some of those sunglasses that "brighten" up or make things "sharper" tend to also disguise the light conditions or weather changes. You don't want to be far from home and realize that a storm has come up. Vermilion is an orangeish red.
  3. I agree with the Fan above, two tints are very useful, if not necessary. Excuse me, I'm now going to find out exactly what colour vermilion is.
  4. No worries about the lighting Rich, just use a cane pole, Irish may still have his bamboo pole in his basement. Have you been using that type of headlamp for a while?
  5. Much enjoyed, thanks.
  6. Too bad, you could have needed a 2nd field test.
  7. mudpout, mudpuppies whatever you call 'em is good eats.
  8. And for the small ones I'll just slide my hand up from the tail and use the 3 spines to help hold the fish. As a little kid I was told by my cousins that the barbles/ "whiskers" would sting you, I hated trying to get them off my line. Not sure when I figured they were full of it???
  9. ouch
  10. I would, but I'll get crap all over my keyboard.
  11. On a hyjacking note. Why is it that the guy on the shore with a $500 float reel, thinks he's superior to a guy in a tinny and a 10hp outboard? I know the guy in the boat could buy at least 4 of my set-ups, and yet I know I'm the better person???
  12. That's too bad. The pictures were nice.
  13. Ya, Ya you got some fish. How did the field test go? How envious do I sound???
  14. I remember that I think as well. It was more of a tuna design. Speed/ efficient movement was the goal.
  15. The guy in marketing /promotions would have 100's of colours, multiple sizes, sallow and deep diving options.
  16. Figured that's the way it works. Heck, what's an extra click or two.
  17. Now there is a true angler.
  18. Sounds like someone is trying to rig their teams numbers.
  19. Does clicking on the banner advertisements on this site help OFC? Or should I just stick to enlightened, intelligent posts??? OK, OK, smart:asshat: comments and crack-pot ideas. Big diff!
  20. You could, but someone would say they caught a bigger one.
  21. The action of the lure will be different for each of the different combinations you described. Some lures will be more affected than others. A lot of people will now use Fluorocarbon line as a leader instead of wire. Another concern with tieing your line directly to a split ring is the line slipping into the "split" part of the ring. Now you'll see some oblong split rings that are meant to counter this problem.
  22. Sorry Green Coach, I couldn't help it. I've got a big trip, ie once in a lifetime, coming up and I want my camera to be at its best. It's a Pentax DSLR. I want to clean the CCD, Henry's web site says it costs $100. What are my other options? Thanks
  23. The question is easy, the answer is another matter. I don't know if I ever would keep a record Musky. I don't fish for self-worth. If someone wanted to keep a record... First, on the boat there is no way to know for sure it is even a/the record (I'd feel even worse if I killed the 2nd biggest musky ever). Second, if you keep it as the O'Brian fish and others have shown, there will be detractors. Having said that, if the season is open and the angler possesses the proper license he or she has every right to keep said fish. If you don't like that, then get the regs changed and leave the angler alone. The feeling among many is that the next record musky is going to be caught in a lake that has a catch and release only season, which of course means that it won't be the official record.
  24. Great stuff! Why is Santa standing in the cooler???
  25. Article from the Globe and Mail... are we sure it's not just a new Berkley product??? http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...ry/Science/home
