  3. Rainbow trout/steelhead are a Pacific salmon that does not die after spawning.
  4. I don't tell my wife... I'm sure as heck not going to tell you. I did do a rough estimate for insurance... I don't bring up the cost per wear for her shoes like I used to.
  5. I just saw this i fill on the news. Just wondering about first hand experience before I commit with $. Thanks
  6. I'm just sayin' http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/technology/personal-tech/ipad-the-right-fit-for-sumo-wrestlers/article1683113/ Japan’s sumo association to distribute iPads to wrestlers who have trouble using cellphones as a result of large hands Yoko Kubota Reuters Published on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 9:22AM EDT Last updated on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 9:26AM EDT Japan's ancient sport of sumo is embracing the latest high-tech, with its governing body set to distribute Apple's iPad to wrestlers who often struggle with smaller cellphone keypads due to their giant hands. The sumo association said it will hand out iPads to Japan's 51 “stables,” or the clubs the wrestlers belong to, with the aim of improving communication among the roly-poly grapplers after some in the past had missed information sent by fax or telephone. “We will hand out the newest iPads to all the sumo stables to swiftly communicate what we need to,” association vice chairman Hiroyoshi Murayama said. The iPad tablet PC, which starts at 48,800 yen ($570) in Japan, was likely chosen because many stablemasters do not use computers and wrestlers are not good at punching in messages on their mobile phones with their big hands, Jiji news agency said. Sumo is trying to overhaul its image after being rocked by a series of scandals including an illegal baseball gambling racket, assault and drug use.
  7. That will most likely change. First one is free... or in this case $59.98.
  8. Nice job guys. Thank goodness there is no collar on those shirts, 'cause ya know CUDZ would be popin' it.
  9. http://blog.syracuse.com/outdoors/2010/08/video_nebraska_10-year-old_cat.html
  10. Not at all. Just a difference of opinion and how to express them.
  11. Or you could just use skill... oh sorry ... never mind.
  12. It doesn't even have to be winter to appreciate a non-metal reel for cold/wet hands. Sure its's a compromise but I'd rather have my bare hands on a "plastic" reel then a mitt on a metal one when it's cold and wet.
  13. For cars it is base on the vehicle manufactures guidelines NOT the tire. That information can be found on a door panel or sometimes inside the gasoline fill door.
  14. Fluoro mainline is a compromise (a bad one IMO). Fluoro leader line does not sit on a spool well (coils, kinks etc) so manufactures dumbed it down to spool better, and in doing so lost strength and stealth. I don't need line stealth 10 feet from my lures, but I do want it right down where the teeth, rocks and zebra mussels are. Mono or braid combined with varying lengths of fluoro leaders cover most of my fishing situations. Uni to uni works if the lines are very close in diameter. Albright works if the lines are of different diameters. Most lines will list the pound test as well as the diameter on the box. I'm not going to try to save 50 cents on a length of line that has a $8-$15, sometimes more, lure on the end of it.
  15. Tailgate at an NFL game and you'll see lots of that being played. Careful, some of them take it pretty serious... and don't like being beat by a Canuck who's never played before.
  16. Kiss it. You want a decimal use metric like the rest of the world.
  17. Dave told us in the other thread that I get it when his season is over.
  18. I believe his tung was firmly planked in his cheek. As you said some people get it... some do not. The rods can be compered, maybe not favourably, but a comparison can be made. Two anglers of equal skill fishing side by side. Does the angler with a rod 10x more expensive catch 10x more fish?
  19. We ALL have our price points. Some fish out of boats that are not designed specificity for fishing (oh the horror). I have caught fish on hand lines, a bamboo pole with string, cheap rods and some very expensive equipment. The price of the equipment did not impact my enjoyment of angling. It's just fishing whatever your budget.
  20. Funny. I had to do a little serchin' to get the referance... and now I am doing everthing I can, not to comment further.
  21. Nuffin' like Milli Vanilli. I don't do as much ultralite (is that word aloud?) as I used to, maybe I'll get back to it.
  22. Night fishin' a river in the Amazon inhabited by pirana would make me think EVERYTHING was a monster.
  23. On now.
  24. Interesting shows done by National Geographic. Four one hour episodes on today starting at noon on my Bell satellite and repeated starting at 7pm. Noon: Asian carp 1pm: Aligator gar 2pm: searching Rio Roosevelt for monster fish 3pm: wels catfish
