  1. Had it many times during the week long fly-in in September.
  2. Not going to argue that the ice machine is better but it is around $250 more.
  3. I have a similar hb portable unit and I leave it in the caring case when I use it in a boat. I just unplug it from the transducer and bring it onshore to recharge it and keep it out of site.
  4. Sometimes we finesse too much for walleye. The fish are not hitting our presentation so we go lighter or longer because they must be "finessed more". That isn't always the best option. The conditions also dictate the presentation. The river anglers in the mid and western states use some rigs that would make most of us eastern anglers do a double take. That heavy ball sinker offers the same type of precise presentation that a jig would but the hook can swing a little more freely and the weight can be changed more quickly than a whole jig-head.
  5. I've bought books and what not from them, I've had no issues and continue to look for deals. When I looked at the fishing stuff I though their prices were too high. I haven't looked at the tackle for a while, but if you do a search you should be able to see if you are getting a deal or not.
  6. From the Globe and Mail web site: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/video/video-aurora-borealis-seen-from-space/article2236056/ Better yet check out BillM's link a couple of posts down.
  7. That's a tough one. If you are limited to spots you could try something different under the float such as a fly or a jig or even a live worm, if bait is aloud. You might find yourself pulling out your hair however.
  8. Great stuff! Homework, hardwork and some luck.
  9. Nice! Your dog more scared of bears then you?
  10. Don't worry mm nobody is going to think differently about you. Although I'm sure most won't think of you at all and that is why the T dot is hated so much.
  11. At one of the retirement homes I work at a veteran has typed out his story of the Second World War. I read it this week. He signed up in the spring of '44 and had been shot down over Germany by November. He spent 7 days hiding in rural Germany until he was caught and spent the rest of the war being shipped around to prisoner of war camps in eastern Europe. As a tail gunner in a Halifax bomber, he and the pilot were the only survivors, although he didn't know what had happened to the plane and crew until he saw the pilot at a prisoner of war camp. The pilot thought everyone else was dead because the bombers fuel tanks had exploded. He became a doctor and is now retired, we usually talk about fishing but sometimes he'll mention a bit of his war experience.
  12. Ohh the notebook or a tampa game? I'd think about offing myself.
  13. The fans want entertainment. The coaches want, make that need, wins. The two do not always go together.
  14. During the Leaf game in St. Louis at about the 10 minute mark of the 1st period while they were "down low" with Ray Ferraro there was a some random guy standing in the background with a white with blue Dunnville Mudcats jersey.
  15. Ya it becomes the self fulfilling prophecy. They remove too many top predators and the other game fish stunt, so they remove more pike etc.
  16. Anyone notice the resemblance to soccer?
  17. “Tampa Bay Lightning are chipping away at our escrow 1-3-1 at a time,” Phoenix Coyotes forward Paul Bissonnette tweeted.
  18. What did Doug have to say? BTW that's a great white north reference.
  19. I have a fuji FinePix XP10. It's small and is less than a $200. http://www.fujifilm.ca/products/digital_cameras/xp/finepix_xp10/index.html
  20. Lightning home game and that is what they provided for their fans for entertainment. I hate the flyers but the lightning are "more wrong".
  21. Nice! You could put a lot of tackle in there.
  22. If they take out all the pike the only thing left in there will be "baby bass" (stunted).
