  1. The Gardens is just about ready. http://m.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/peek-at-new-gardens-brings-back-old-chills/article4362333/?service=mobile
  2. Factors: Which brand of motor? What size? How far are you willing to travel. Henry brought up some great points from the dealer's pov. Another thing that may have influenced 2012 is the tsunami. From paint to parts some most car dealers were impacted in some way. Last June there were no cars and this May many dealers are still playing catch-up.
  3. Dirty pool posting that after 9pm back here in the east.
  4. Both have left me wanting more the last number of years. That's in part to my needs/wants changing, my access to product changing as well as the industry itself changing.
  5. July's OOD magazine mentions that the Sportsmen's show is going back to Exhibition Place. The blurb also says the dates will be February 7-13, but makes no mention of the fact that that is a significant change in date which leads me to believe that a typo was made. btw that Ben Beattie guy has a couple of articles in the mag as well. Edit to add correction. August's OOD corrected the dates to February 7-10.
  6. My experience has been that suspended walleye are active fish and the fussy ones are on the bottom.
  7. Kids fishing event in Barrie this Sunday. http://www.teachakidtofish.com/
  8. Gift Card! One size fits all. You pick the store.
  9. I see a dozen drum and 6 cats. Nice when the screen lights-up like that… as long has you can get them to bite.
  10. You could put a one man band on the extra arm. It's not something I have any inclination to try. To each his own.
  11. I equate them to snake oil.
  12. I attach mine to at least 5 feet of flourocarbon for those line sensitive bass.
  13. The plastic line guide makes it look more like a calcutta B replacement then a TE. But the US price is more inline with a TE.
  14. Old salmon action shot with a disposable camera from 15 odd years ago.
  15. I like the looks of both of those, but it may be worthwhile to read the reviews as it seems they are not compatible with all vehicles and I believe 4-runners were specifically mentioned.
  16. It's not just the rods that get broken while traveling. It's the "bruises" and bent/broken guides that they can get as well. No guarantees either way, but the odds can be more in your favour if you use a case. I spend hard earned (well, moderately hard earned) cash on my rods. I expect them to last. Thirty dollars in plumbing pipe is cheap insurance/peace of mind.
  17. There are lots of hard case options available at multiple stores. Some are telescoping. I've tried a few and no one case worked for all my different needs. I started making my own with pvc pipe from a hardware store (as others here have done). You can cut it to suit, and it comes in different diameters. I can make 3 for the price of one store bought rod case. It does not really require any special tools (hack saw) or skills either (ability to use a tape measure).
  18. I really like the waterline net shot.
  19. What size trebles would you use?
  20. Smiling on the inside in every one.
  21. Maybe we had the same grade 8 teacher 30 odd years ago?
  22. There is not necessarily a straight line between education, intelligence and wisdom.
  23. No point in boatin' if there ain't no fish.
