  1. A false sense of security is thinking all-season are enough. Today in Barrie was such a day. Level pavement, guy could not get moving in the snow, his awd wasn't getting any traction. I'm sure he wasn't a road hazard.
  2. Well, the house is going to be listed, maybe I'll have space for a boat.

  3. It doesn't have to be on a hill on days like this.
  4. Living in Windsor would also factor into it.
  5. Soon as the b'y left, they fixed it up?
  6. Snows are the only way to go for most of the province and for most of the people. I thought when we got a small awd suv that with the noisy, nobby tires that came with it we might be fine with one set. I made an appointment for winter tires after the first snow in November.
  7. It's a small enough lake that you can fish the whole thing in a week if you want to. The bulk of the weeds, and bigger pike, are in the bottom end of the lake near/past the island. I don't remember a spot that didn't produce fish. We would decide to troll back to the cabin for lunch. We would just head straight for the cabin and have stop because we were catching fish so often that we would have never made it.
  8. Stimulants maybe.
  9. Many things can be completive without ever being a sport. And that is not meant to belittle them. It's a classification, a grouping.
  10. Even the eyes are camouflaged on the young ones.
  11. Then my spare humminbird would be of no use to you.
  12. Avery cannot be in University… and that is also a fact. Whether or not something is a sport doesn't impact, or change, my enjoyment of it.
  13. We know what you are an authority on. Facts are facts, disagreeing with them doesn't change them. The quality of the people who are good (or bad in some cases) at sports does not change the fact that they play a sport, or not.
  14. Is it just the transducer? and is it a hummingbird?
  15. Nice! You can get the odd one in that area but certainly other areas are more productive. On a side note I've never caught or heard of someone catching a laker there.
  16. As the article mentions this is being done in an effort to be recognized, and later, enter the olympics. Interestingly enough (and without any appearance of irony) later in the same article they list the reasons why an icefisher would be unlikely to benefit from using a PED. I love fishing. I even watch other people do it on tv sometimes. It is not a sport. It can be a competition (as is debating), but that doesn't make it a sport.
  17. I have the app for my android phone. It works great on that. Best 15 bucks I've ever spent on tech.
  18. Right out from shore in Barrie. There are a few parking lots with lots of spots (sorry 'bout that) and no fees.
  19. Boat layout is a personal choice. I have almost no use for a livewell and never use a baitwell, but want all the rod storage I can get.
  20. I should have known, my four year old has a similar schedule.
  21. Where would you have gone? You weren't working on a fishing post, or offering useful advice to a question, or an opinion on some current events being discussed here.
  22. Tough one for Phaneuf. He can't let someone push and punch him after the whistle, but you get no love for beating on someone half your size. Mouthy little guys don't know how many times they don't get a whooping because a bigger guy knows this.
  23. And neither does northern Ontario.
  24. If it gets any colder they will have….
  25. I guess I haven't been paying attention. Someone hasn't been around here for a while it seems?
