  1. I got out after lunch on Wednesday for a few hours and didn't have one solid hook-up. Marked a bunch at 110 fow but couldn't get them to chase more then 10 feet or so. Didn't mark much at 90-105 ft. Beautiful day though.
  2. I was hoping to go today (Friday) but with this snow it looks like I'll be taking a pass.
  3. Yep, Couch had 8 plus inches on Saturday and the weather has been good all week. Can't see why St. John shouldn't be good as well.
  4. Can I just drink later? It's bedtime and I've got work in the morning.
  5. I would suspect that it was not the first jump for that truck.
  6. Never let facts get in the way of a windmill.
  7. Leaving the ground is no big deal… it's the coming back down that weighs on a truck and the driver.
  8. Black eyes, broken nose and a mess in his drawers.
  9. The only airbag in that sidekick was… never mind.
  10. I've been told I have a lot of hot air.
  11. A wise man once said: A Canuck should always take home heating advice from someone living south of the Mason-Dixon line with caution. No useful advice from me, just pot shots at my friend to the south.
  12. "Dude, why do you look like a racoon? And why'd you take the bus today?"
  13. Just what I need, another place to spend money.
  14. Chili con carne is on!!!

Who ya pic,n Rob? Blow out for the Ravens is my pic.

  15. I've heard of people eating them, but I have not.
  16. I can honestly say I do not know how many channels I have access to, but it's probably around 200. There will always be more programs available that I do not watch, or like, then I do.
  17. Hard to say. Where does the creek get its water from? Is there some "warm" water inflow? It doesn't take much current to eat some ice. Water levels also fluctuate more in creeks and rivers.
  18. It doesn't have to be below the bottom of the ice, but most will set it up that way.
  19. Lots of guys have rigged their regular transducers to use on the ice. The other end (not sure why I didn't take a photo of it???) has a simple hinge attached to another piece of wood. Most "newer" hummingbirds do have the same transducer attachment but I don't know about an older model.
  20. Planned on fishing the west side of Kempenfelt Bay Saturday morning. One guy was heading out on foot just as we were parking. He was set-up about 200-300 yards from shore by the time we got to the water's edge. Ice looked ok. Step out and spud, second hit breaks through, maybe 2 inches of ice. Figure maybe the ice by shore melted more in the thaw. Single spud out a ways more and then stop to give'er a couple of hits and the same thing 2 inches, maybe. The only thing that tightened up out there was not the ice. Easy decision for me and my brother, no fish is worth this. We turn around and head back. Meet a guy at the start of the trail and tell him what we encountered, he shrugs and heads towards the lake. As we are loading the car up we hear someone else is heading out on the ice on an atv. We debate the options in the car and decide that rather then skipping up the west side or driving south to Cooks Bay we'd try Couch. Lots of ice on Couch even a full size pick-up out by some huts. Head out, drill some holes and mark fish right away. Nothing caught but small perch and one 12 incher, but there will be other trips. Both spots had just enough snow on the ice to make walking without cleats easy.
  21. More then one way to fish. More then one way to host a fishing show. There is more product placement then in the past (to a point) but that's the nature of the business. No product placement, no show. Everyone is absolutely entitled to an opinion. Mine is, change the channel if you don't like it.
  22. Trying to persuade my brother to come out. He's single with no kids so a late night of drinking is a viable option for him.
