  1. Definitely a fuel/air problem. Either your air setting is way too high or you are starving for fuel. Clean the carbs good including the jets, set your air and check your float height etc.
  2. So you pay the tax on the boat purchase price? Why would you not have the seller give you a bill of sale then saying you paid $10 for the boat? Doesnot matter if it is a $40000 Ranger or a $500 aluminum, courts will never rule on consideration, ie what you paid for something. Or am i way out in left field here?
  3. Beauty! Sure wish we had those out west here. Wish I could have made it down this summer for some fishing but work has been busy.
  4. I hunt way too much. From calling coyotes, to elk, moose, mulies, grouse and whitetails I stay pretty busy come September 9 till end of February.
  5. Nice report Rob, See Hackett is still producing and nice to see that Spike made the trip and wasn't left on the side of the road!
  6. Born and raised there and my family has a cabin just by Meota. Have had it for 50 plus years. Go back quite a bit actually.
  7. Well was back home at the cabin in Saskatchewan. Met up with Rob aka holdfast and we headed to a lake north of his place in Big River called Hackett Lake for some fishing. I must admit it was with some trepidation that I met Rob based on some of his comments on here but I am happy to report he is a good guy and a most generous host and not at all as he sometimes comes across on here. We had a lot of fun fishing and I am hoping to get back up that way the August long weekend with my boat so we can try Delaronde Lake. Rob with the first pike of the day My first pike of the day First walleye of the day Rob's biggest walleye My biggest Rob with the stringer for the day Will improve the photo taking the next trip.
  8. Rob, I wouldn't put my boat in there as them sandbars are a little too shallow for my motor but I will get Rob C. to take his jet out there and we can meet up one night.
  9. Rob, nice pics of my hometown. Be there in a week. The one pic looking back across the river into North Battleford shows the highrises where my mom now lives. When Rob Cook and I fished the river last year in his boat, we used a 2/0 pickeral rig with minnows with about a 6 ounce pyramid weight on the bottom. We launched his boat down at the launch on the north bank east of the northbound bridge the one time and the other time we launched at the Paynton ferry. Talked to Rob's wife Deanna the other day and guess they are having good luck out on the river. Good luck and I will look you up when I get there.
  10. Good deal. Have em scoped out before I get there. Love walleye fishing!
  11. holdfast nice report but where are all the walleyes up there? Or you waiting till I can make it up there to get into them? As for the North Saskatchewan, my buddy Rob and I fished all around there last summer in his jet boat. Caught some walleyes and one goldeye. Hopefully you can find some there too.
  12. Classless fans and an old hockey team makes for a bunch of losers!
  13. I have 6 Quantum's and love em never a problem and the one Catalyst PTi spinning reel has 5 tough years under its belt. Have 2 Shimano Catala baitcasters and I would not write home about them. If any weight on the line, the spool will not release to cast with either of them.
  14. When I was at the cabin for the long weekend saw the plume of smoke and knew what was happening. Yeah the hills bewteen Cochin and Glaslyn are nice and but once you hit the forest it is even nicer in my mind. I prefer the forest and is probably why I am a forester!
  15. Nice boat, congrats. I also like your downrigger mounting plate set up. Currently looking at mounting my two into my boat and your setup has given me an idea or two. Thanks.
  16. Nice report Rob. One of these days we will have to make sure we meet up. May have to make a jaunt up that way if the walleye fishing is good. Have you ever tried Little Loon Lake just east of Glaslyn? Guys sure seem to get the walleyes out of there but the lake is so narrow and small that with the big wakeboard boats it can get crowded. I tried it alst July 1 long weekend but it was so hot out that I did not stay long.
  17. Awesome report. Ben and you are so lucky to be living in what I think is fishing paradise, NW Ontario. Last there in 2007 and have to rectify that here soon.
  18. Very sad day. My thots and prayers are with her family.
  19. This what I drove thru to get to work this morning. Global warming?????
  20. Lac Seul serves up a couple of more beauties. Good job Ben.
  21. 79% of the geneal managers in the NHL stated that if they were starting a team today, Crosby would be the guy that they would choose to build around. Sort of sums it up pretty quick. Ovechkin, if he doesn't have the puck he is no where to be seen especially in his own end. Prime example, last night, gives up the puck to Crosby and Crosby goes in and scores. Where is Ovechkin, in the Pittsburg zone watching it. Does not even try to come back. In head to head match ups between the two, Crosby is dominating. Game 7 last nite, who showed up to play, Crosby. To say Crosby doesn't dig the pucks out of the corners etc is foolishness personified. Guess you did not see him behind the nets or back checking. To say he is always off to the side etc or standing behind the net, nothing wrong with using your brain out there. Gretzky seemed to do that a lot too and like Gretzky said, go where the puck is going not where it has been.
  22. Irishfield that is good to know. Thanks for the info. Learn something new everyday.
