  1. Good to hear Roger, see you in a couple hours.
  2. I talked to these people this morning and they guaranteed me they have NONE in stock, and their also the same people that told me this item is no longer available in any CTC store ANYWHERE in Ontario. Sorry Mo, we tried for ya
  3. About 1955, my dad bought a 15' cederstrip with a 25 HP Johnson Seahorse and instantly became King of the Lake and there wasn't a boat within 100 miles could catch us Thanks for the memories Chris !!
  4. HAHAHAHAHAHA
  5. It's not a can of worms at all, infact it usually leads to some great discussions. ........But welded really IS better
  6. This is a common question that's asked around here alot and always leads to some good discussions......and it will today too .......but it's sorta the same as which is the best outboard motor to buy. Myself, I've got a welded Crestliner that I'm very happy with and after 8 seasons it's still as sound as the day it was manufactured, but who knows, maybe it'll crack next time I use it. Others with riveted hulls will tell you their boat is superior. I think basically any boat built today by any of the big manufacturers will be good no matter how it's made, but that's just me.
  7. I just called the store down here near me Mo and they don't stock that item, so she checked her puter and it says it's not stocked by ANY Canadian Tire in Ontario I just got my new CTC flyer last night and it doesn't show anything even close to that on Page 6 They do have a heck of a deal on a set of pliers though, if yer interested
  8. Sounds like yesterday will go down as one of your worst ever Glen !! Sure hope those pills get you fixed up soon.
  9. Yeah, but things were lots better the 2nd time
  10. Hey Pat, it'll be good to see you on the river tomorrow, it's been a long time since Quinte
  11. Mornin chickenhawk, but if you wanna talk to us early risers, you need to be here about 4 hours ago
  12. Sounds like 4 buildings are gone Brian, including the Wellington Hotel ?? .....hopefully everyones safe. Thanks for the update Roy
  13. Their talkin on this mornings news about a large fire burning in Barrie right now. Hopefully none of our Barrie-ites are involved
  14. Dang, I musta been off sick the day we learned Greek mythology back in high school, cause I'm not sure if I've been slammed, praised or laffed at here
  15. 99% of our Quinte pickeral fishing is done after dark in the springtime, and we normally troll minnow baits in close to shore in 8 - 12 FOW and generally do very well. Most of our fish in the early spring are in the 2-5 pound range, although my nephew boated a 12+ pounder a few years back. Lots of folks jig for them in the daytime too and do well, but I can't help you there as I don't enjoy that type of fishing and seldom do it. We also get alot of decent pike in the daytime working jerkbaits over the fresh weedbeds. There's a whole smorgasborg of fish in Quinte, so you'll have no trouble enjoying your self there next spring....best of luck
  16. We do it every December Wayne, so mark your 2008 calander for 1 year from this Saturday and we'll see you there
  17. Roger, we'll try to launch at the same Marina where we always meet, about 7:30, but if it's frozen over (most likely) head up to the one at Frenchmans Creek, it's usually ice free in there. Gimme a call on my cell when you arrive if you can't find us......647-407-7931 Bring a BIG stringer with ya, I'm feeling lucky
  18. I've been fishing Quinte for over 50 years and have always been interested in the history of the region, and came across this article while researching the Hay Bay area this morning. Thought some of you familiar with Hay Bay may find it interesting, I know I did. http://www.aandc.org/research/drownings_hay_bay.html
