  1. Doncha hate when guys mess around with the gear ??
  2. Atta boy Steve, a chunky musky is better than some ole tuna any day Very purty fish indeed !!
  3. Thanks for that Kevin, a very enjoyable read with some excellent pictures to go along with it. I've been wanting some rod socks too, so I may look into that company you got yours from.
  4. I payed around $60 for mine a few years ago so I think $50 is a good deal but other than Lowes I don't know of any other retailers that carry them. I think I heard somewhere that you can get them thru Muskies Canada but I'm no longer a member and don't know for sure, but one of our members should be able to help. Maybe contact PigeonTroller or MIkeP
  5. After you've cut a few 7/0 hooks you'll wonder how you ever got along without the Knipex. Well worth the $$$$, both for your safety and the fish.
  6. Always enjoyed restaurant fires Phil, it meant we had vittles at the hall for weeks after
  7. I hope your at least changing the lower unit oil
  8. I shovelled gravel for 6 hours yesterday and thought I was having a bad day.....it doesn't seem so bad now Hope you have better luck with your next fish'n trip.
  9. Best line I've read all week
  10. If you know it's junk, what choice is there to make ??
  11. All the best in your new job Jack but there's no doubt you'll be an asset to the company. I've still got a couple Believers I bought from you waaay back when you had your own tackle shop, and their still catching fish
  12. All the best Paul, wish'n I was fish'n with you guys.
  13. Absolutely fantastic Simon and congrats to you !! I also was addicted to those filthy stinkin things for 30 years but have been off them for 20 years now and before you know it, you'll be saying the same thing
  14. I use 130# fluoro for my musky leaders simply because it doesn't kink like wire.
  15. Beautiful picture there Dan !!!! Congrats to everyone on a very successful day on the lake.
  16. What an incredible trip to take the kids on and definetely something they'll never forget, specially those monster pike their holding. As for the groundhog, he better start backing away from the snack table
  17. Sounds way outta line to me Simon
  18. Some real beauts there Larry !! Nice twist on the pictures too.
  19. I'm having trouble seeing both those videos as they keep stopping & starting on me, but from what I can see, the destruction is terrible. Really sad to see what Mother Nature can do to innocent folks sometimes.
  20. Jeeez Randy, you post that while I'm sitting here having nothing more than a peanut butter cookie for lunch
  21. Your more than welcome Mike, it's an idea I got a few years ago from Richard Collins, a great musky guide on the Ottawa River. Pretty cheap insurance to keep the expensive rods & reels from taking a header into the lake.
  22. That was a fun day Wayne that I'll remember for a long time I drove up to your place and it was snowing like crazy all the way up, then when we hit the water we could see everything was snow covered on one side of Midland Harbor and bare as a bone on the other side
  23. Wayne, I don't think I've seen that picture before but if I remember correctly, I think that wave got us. That was a rough & tumble day
  24. Mike, use the same wire as the safety strap, make a loop a couple inches in diameter and join it with a couple crimps. I also use some shrink wrap on mine. Loop it over the feet of your reel, then put the reel in the seat of the rod as always. Just be sure the loop is small enough that it can't fit over the top of the reel and come off. It works really well and with the safety strap 4 or 5 feet long it doesn't get in the way and after you pick the rod up outta the holder you can simply unhook it.
