I hear ya Steve, I went into town this morning and when I passed the gas station he was $1.17 so I figured I gas up on the way back. Thirty minutes later, he was $1.27

All of Katchawanooka has been wide open for weeks and when I drove past there a couple hours ago a boat was running across it. Sure was nice to hear the sound of an outboard finally !!

I spent the last 2 days removing all the railings from my back deck,and have new ones being delivered tomorrow. This coming weekends weather was looking great and I'm all set to do the install . Now their calling for rain, snow, ice and everything else that makes outdoor work miserable and it's not looking much better for the next 2 weeks. Sure hope I don't sleep walk off the end of the deck in the meantime

Sorry to hear that Dan, it's tough to lose a good friend. My best bud for 35 years died 18 months ago and it still hurts alot.

We fished a couple on-line musky tournaments a few years ago, mostly against American teams, and did very well. The tournies ran from May till November and we fished once a month and the losing team from each group was eliminated. The 1st year we beat out 45 other teams and came in 1st place, and the 2nd year we fished against 60 teams and came in 4th place. There were no prizes other than bragging rights and it was a blast.

Yeah, some of them were made by Yamaha Peter, but I'm not sure which ones. But whether it says Yammy or Merc, their both reliable motors.

My 90 Merc purred like a kitten for 9 years Roger, and has been just as good for the new owner for the last 4 years. I'd assume the new 70's would be just as good and as Ernie said, there's plenty of Merc dealers around if you ever need anything. Never had any experience with Suzuki's but I don't think I've ever heard anything negative about them either. But.... if you can get whatever you want, I'd go with Yamaha.

My brother had a Lowe and a friend had a Smokercraft and they were both nice boats Roger. I spose the best one will be whichever has the layout that suits you best. Good choice going for the full windshield, you'll really appreciate it when the cold fall winds start howling. Now get yourself a full top and your set for anything. We'll be down to St. Clair late October or early November for the annual musky trip so I'll let you know when exactly and maybe you can bring the new ride down and join us.

These 7 showed up in the yard for dinner last night just before sunset. Still lotsa snow in the woods but the yard is pretty well bare so their eating my grass. Maybe I won't need to use the mower this summer. It was getting dark so the pictures didn't come out too well.

I hear ya Rob, but when that woody is pounding away on the tree with the chainsaw for a beak, and the woodchips are flying as he digs 2" wide holes, it's hard to think about the bugs

Yeah, it's hard to believe they can pound the trees as hard as they do without knocking their little brains loose. He was hammering a mile a minute when I took that pic and that's why his head looks fuzzy. There's 3 of them around here I see all the time but this guy is determined to kill that tree of mine. All 3 of them were sitting side by side on a limb outside the window one day but by the time I got the camera they'd taken off.
