  1. I almost never get a cold or the flu and have never had a flu shot so I'm gonna stay that way as it seems to work well for me. Now I'm gonna go knock on some wood.
  2. You've got waaaay more patience than me Cliff
  3. Mine runs off propane but natural gas would work as well, don't think their available for oil but I could be wrong on that one. Lemme know if you decide to go with Generac and I'll give you the name of the folks I deal with.
  4. This mornings news says Buffalo is getting a years worth of snow this week. Guess global warming hasn't reached New York State yet
  5. It's tough Dan when English is sort of the universal language but it's hard to get someone who can speak it when you need help.
  6. Just a telemarketer Dan, or better known as a pain in the butt.
  7. At least that's what the woman who could hardly speak English told me on the phone last night right before I slammed the phone in her ear. Sad that we have to put up with this garbage in our lives. Anyways, have a great day everyone
  8. I thought you were gonna say the radio was still under extended warranty LOL
  9. Interesting how politicians never cut back on politicians.
  10. OK Wayne, I hafta ask, why would you save a box for 35 years ??
  11. I'm only a few miles east of Upper Buck and when I bought this place nearly 5 years ago it came with a portable 6500 watt generator that plugged into an outlet on the outside of the house and worked well running all the basics but I had to be here to start it. We have alot of ground water here in the spring and the sump runs alot for about 2 months. We were in town one day and the power went out in the whole area which shut off my sump pump. I rushed home and the water in the sump was only a few minutes from flooding my fully finished basement but luckily I was able to fire up the generator. Power was off for 2 days but I was able to prevent any damage and keep the house running. I decided then though to invest in an automatic and have never regretted spending the money and it's good to know when the power goes out the generator will fire up automatically and keep my home running and fully protected. In the country when the hydro goes out there's no water either if your on a well and that's important along with the furnace and everything else that requires power. Only my opinion, and that's what you asked for, but if your gonna move to the boonies and need water and a sump pump, along with heat and lights, an automatic generator is a good investment.
  12. I'm sure you all saw the same news as me last night where the provincial lieberals have a bigger deficit than they thought, so we can probably all expect more tax increases and this measly $2 grab is probably just a drop in the bucket of what's to come. I'm just happy that I can honestly say I voted against these morons in the last election.
  13. The 3" total we have on the ground over here doesn't seem quite so bad now LOL
  14. A friend is leaving Thursday and driving to BC where he has a winter home in the mountains. He crosses at the Soo and then heads across the northern States. Sounds like he could run into some pretty nasty weather along the way.
  15. Best to leave the flares at home, they don't mix well with leaking gasoline at a crash site.
  16. I finished off with a $3000 mountain bike, but this is the one I started with
  17. What part of Ontario are you in Gerritt ??

  20. Once my reels go on the rods the boxes go out for recycling just like everything else I don't need. I always tell my wife if she doesn't use something for a week it's gone
  21. Actually Joey it's just the opposite, we almost never lose power, infact that's the 1st time it's been out for an extended period...7 hours...since we had the generator installed. Sure is nice to know I've got everything covered though when it does happen.
  22. We're just getting our 1st dusting of snow now but I put the winter tires on the truck today.
  23. No snow here but a neighbour heard there was a car crash in Lakefield this morning that took out a hydro pole. Sadly they took the driver away in the air ambulance so fingers crossed for him.
  24. Good to hear your powers back on Norm, it's still out over my way.
