  1. Sorry But life can be a B#&?h. LOL Dan.
  2. OK so the guy stores all the boats so that everyone can get at their boat anytime they want it. Now add up the lost revenue from the boats that he can no longer fit into the warehouse. Take that number and add it equally to the remaining spots that are left. I can see an eaisy 40-50% increase in storage fees; I wonder how much people would be willing to pay for that privilege? Dan.
  3. Years ago, a few days before Christmas, my then 7 year old daughter and the wife, built a gingerbread house. This thing was 2'X2'X2' high, had to weigh at least 20Lbs. We went to my Dad's place for Xmas eve and left the gingerbread house on the dinning room table. We get home and there's not a crumb left of it to be found and I mean nothing; as if it never existed. Stalker our 30+ inch tall doberman, who always greeted us at the door, was also nowhere to be seen. Go down to the laundry room and there he was sound asleep, on a pile of dirty close; had to give him a nudge to wake him up. As he stood up, I called to my wife and said I think I found the house; the dog's belly had a soccer ball sized bulge on/in it. I was worried at first that he had gorged himself; but after he drank about a gallon of water he seemed fine. Now the daughter who, like I said was 7, was standing at the front door, one hand on her hip and the other arm stretched out, with a finger pointing at the door. In a calm and what sounded like an adult voice says "This dog has to go". LOL Stalker missed Xmas morning with us that year; he was to busy spray painting the back yard with gingerbread. Dan.
  4. Put the boat on blocks in the driveway; it's not all that hard to do. There are a lot of vids on You Tube, showing how it's done. If you were closer (or feel like a drive) to London; I'd sling it off one of my hoists. I guess I should ask how big/heavy the boat is first? The hoist that I would need use to sling a boat, has a 10K lbs limit. There's a Flying J just a couple of minutes drive from the shop and they have weight scales. Dan.
  5. Good luck on your next step in life Cliff, change is always good to refresh your outlook; not that you seem to need refreshing. LOL Look at all your friends here on the board (people you have met or like myself who we haven.t met) that are pulling and caring for you. All the best. A whole new set of adventures await you Dan
  6. A courts judgement against you, is like taxes owed; they don't go away when you declare bankruptcy. Dan.
  7. Just did a quick search on Kijij using "boat parts" and there were a number of hits; might be worth checking out. Even if the seats need recovering; it'll likely be cheaper then all new? Dan.
  8. I may be wrong here but l would never use another electrical device to restrain/train a dog. It just may have been this particular dog but I followed all the instinctual manuals on its use and I turned the dog into a paranoid wreck. It took a long time for the animal to trust new things; I broke its spirit of checking out new things. It may have been all my fault but I'll now only use rewards as a training device. Dan. B
  9. Awesome pic! Thanks for sharing. Dan.
  10. I know what you mean Cliff; I wish that most of my clothing were made out of some form of spandex. Not that I want to show the world my business; but to get the zipper closed around me belly. LOL Dan.
  11. Congrats!!!!!!!!! I'll PM you my address so you can send me one. No better yet, save one for me; until we meet. Remember you like tobacco offerings. LOL Dan
  12. Great report Cliff. Nice when all the pieces fall into place; isn't it. Dan.
  13. Looks like a decent idea? The way it sets the hook; a dink perch would be slingshot right out the hole and into the white bucket. LOL Dan.
  14. Does anyone know what the ice conditions are like up there? I'm all but finished the new hut and I'm looking for safe ice to try it out; yes I know no ice is a 100% safe. If it's a up there, what would be a good access point and parking for my truck while we're out? I'm hoping to go out mid week, this coming week; but I've never gone out on the ice without a hut operator before and need some advice or a local that wants a free day out fishing with us? Dan.
  15. X2 And yes how was the fishing??? Dan.
  16. I used up my bandwidth on the hosing site; I've paid for an upgrade; but for some reason it hasn't kicked in yet?? Dan.
  17. If you have a commercial (Black) license plate on your truck; it's legal to tow a trailer with another trailer connected to the first trailer. As long as you do not exceed GVWR of the tow vehicle, with the combined weight of both trailers and tow vehicle's;you're good to go. It looks goofy as hell going down the road and you're never going to be able to back this train up, while it's all connected; but it is legal here in Ontario. Dan.
  18. Thanks for all the replies people. The heater/furnace I installed is a proper RV furnace. It takes air from the outside for combustion, it has a heat exchange box (lack of a better word) and a fan that recirculates the inside air. I took the furnace all apart before installing it, so I could inspect the heat exchanger for burn through or cracks and it all looks good. When the furnace is running the exhaust is clear, with no sooting on the exhaust port. As for the heat produced, I set the thermostat at 80° closed the hut up and let it run. After 10 minutes the furnace shut off; I thought what the hell went wrong? Nothing was wrong it was up to temp already. I'm not anticipating a CO problem, just piece of mind knowing we're OK in there. So I'll do as some have suggested and it'll be part of the ritual to bring it with me every time we go out. I'll keep it in the munchies bag; I would never forget that. LOL Thanks again. Dan.
  19. After reading about the firefighter that died from CO poisoning while ice fishing. http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/field-notes/minnesota-firefighter-dies-from-carbon-monoxide-poisoning-while-ice-fishing I've been looking for a CO detector for the fish hut, that I just built. The ones I've found at CTC or Home Depot are portable (Battery operated) but they're not meant to be used or left in the cold. Operating temperature range is 40° to 100° F. not much good for a fish hut? Does anyone know of a unit that won't break the bank and still be accurate for what I want it for? Dan.
  20. I bought the trailer from the Harbor Freight store in Port Huron; before our dollar went for a dump. 2000lb axle with a tilt deck for around $300.00. Dan.
  21. Got the last three pics back up; but still waiting for the other host to get the rest back up? Dan.
  22. Yea I'll see if I can get this sorted; if not I'll re-post from another host? Dan.
  23. My picture hosting site has gone down; will try and find out why? Sorry. Dan.
  24. Haven't quite finished yet; there's been no real rush, with the lack of what I consider safe ice; for this size of hut. It is coming though; got the benches finished and cut the holes in the floor. The four corners are all the same. The holes are not as round as I wanted; but that happens when you have had a couple of cocktails, while you're working on a project. I did go with the 12 holes; but the lids will have latches, so the holes not being used will not be an issue. I also cut the holes on a 45° angle, so that the lids will not fall through the opening and is strong enough to walk on. I've also added the (DOT) reflective tape and found/bought (Don't ask how much; I didn't and felt obliged to buy it, being special ordered) this flag to put on the door. If someone on a snowmobile can't see this at night; they'd have to be legally blind. LOL Dan
  25. Oh yea cruise control is my best friend on long trips. For me its not 10 clicks over, its more like 20-25 without it turned on. What does it get me; show up at the destination 15 or 20 minutes earlier, 30 or more dollars poorer because of the extra fuel used and likely a ticket. My Avalanche gets decent mileage, if I stay below the 110 mark; after that it's like the fuel injectors are looking for a place to throw an extra pail or two of gas at the engine. LOL Radar calibrated correctly or not, doing more then 10 over the limit; you're asking to be stopped. Dan.
