You can get a non resident fishing license on line from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources website. As for bait Lew may know a tackle shop in the area. https://www.ontario.ca/page/fishing-licence-non-residents-canada -
Unbelievable power they have. Maybe the Rhino was upset because he is in a ZOO! Thanks for sharing.

My Father, Uncles and now my brother cured all sorts of meats in the cold cellar and never used any salt other than table salt. Dry sausages, prosciutto and suprasate. It was very important to get the glands out of the shoulders and the vein out of the pork leg. I remember huge boxes of Sifto Salt doing the prosciutto and it hanging for a year. It was washed periodically with red wine. I also remember that he kept an eye on the temperature of the Cantina (cold cellar). If someone left the door open to get something wet and cold out of it they could face death by chores. I didn't get involved making it because until I was in my 20's I wouldn't touch the stuff. The smell made me noxious. I'll eat it now, a bit, and the smell of my brothers cold cellar still makes my stomach turn. Nothing better to wet an appetite than to look at a huge ham hanging on a hook covered in black and green mold.

Anywhere on the Trent system on any summer weekend. It's the 400 series of Ontario waterways. May 24th is the worse.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. The knot used to hook his heavy weight to the line is a Polymer or Polymar knot.

It isn't just the PC's doing the downsizing of the MNR, the Libs had done it when they were in power. I bet it can go back to the NDP too. Not many tax paying Ontarians give a hoot about the MNR anyway. Please read my response above. Ask the majority of Ontario taxpayers if they would rather have a tax hike or have funding cut in the MNR I know what the answer would be, including so called environmentalists.

From an article I found on Global TV site. "The Lifesaving Society’s 2019 Alberta drowning report, released to Global News on Tuesday, found that men accounted for 71 per cent of water fatalities between 2012 and 2016. The statistics are the latest available, as the society must wait for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to release the data and then it has to be compiled. In 95% of those deaths the drowning victim was not wearing a personal floatation device, P.F.D." -
Like the article states Chatham is about 45 minutes from the Wheatly office. Chatham is only 20 minutes to Lake Sinclair. That move doesn't effect us much as Wheatly is where our CO's are stationed to the 3 hrs.and 12 mins away now to 3 hrs. and 57 minutes away if the office is moved to Chatham.

Thanks Dave I finally Googled it and ut showed EEEv, v for virus. Then the article from The Hadimand/Nofolk site refers to WNv. Another thing to google, West Nile, everyone knows West Nile. The millennials and gen Xers are speaking to us as they speak everyday. In acronyms. LOL, ROTFLMAO. Or L2M. Laughing to myself, that's one I made up myself today. Or MUM2D.

I have heard of guys falling out of perfectly safe beds too. Wearing zipped up and unzipped trousers. Some safe and others not safe at all. That's my wife's tale. -
pier fishing for salmon with high water levels

Dave the only thing I am positive of in 84' was where we lived because I did the math and I turned 30 that year. My kid brother lives off of Lake St. He said Pt. Dalhousie is underwater. Only a few weeks ago they took the grand kids to the carousel. Only the little boats were above water. -

Some good news out of the joint prov. and state Great Lakes commission. I know they have a big long name but I don't have the strength to recall it. I read on the weekend water levels are predicted to drop if the precipitation amounts this coming winter and spring hold true. I'm sure if I Google enough some scientific group monitoring water levels will have a different outlook. POTUS isn't wrong about everything he says. Who do you throw tax money after, those correct, those sometimes correct and those almost never correct? -
I watch the CBS affiliate news from Boston. For 3 days they are talking about this illness EEE. that has required hospitalization and in some cases has caused death in humans and has killed a horse in the Boston area. Never defined the acronym for the decease nor the bug it is transferred by. Tic's, mosquito's what? Terrible journalism. W5, who, what, when, where, why. Grade 9 journalism.

Oh I agree 110% Duckie on wearing one, all the time. Why is it any safer to pose for a pic in a boat without a PFD on? It isn't much safer in my mind. Many bodies they recoved fell out of perfectly safe boats and those bodies didn't have their trouser zippers done up. And no PFD. I've seen it many, many times. Especially from our little 12' tinny. Trying to balance with the guys legs against the side of the boat just knee high, one hand on a jug trying to keep dry and the other on his piss pump all while the boat is bouncing up and down, back and forth in gear. I always told my 1st mate to do the task on his side as to not get any human bodily fluids on my line when trolling. Nothing like turning a fish or me off than to get piss all over my line, on my tackle box and or making the big splash a 250lb anchor makes. edit: On the lighter side the only thing worse than to find 1 guys pants unzipped is to find 2 guys pants unzipped and no PFD's on. I have no prejudice against homosexuality but I am talking safety here folks. -
pier fishing for salmon with high water levels

I would presume it has to do with high water levels if there isn't any construction. I stopped at Pt. Maitland on Erie when it was extremely windy a few weeks ago because I saw the emergency guys hi tailing it that way towards Maitland. Anyone on that pier would have been blown off if they weren't tied down. I didn't hang around as there were no cars in the lot. The water was up 50' into the lot and no way to launch there with the 3' waves smashing on the ramp. They would have if they were sure someone was in peril. Look at long range forecasts not just when venturing out. -
How about a Mitchel 300. The Panzer Tank of fishing reels.

Disregard above. The body of the missing man was found just east of Featherstone Point on Sunday. Not far from where they were searching Thursday at 4PM. The name of the deceased has not been released. My condolences go out to the friends and family of the man. It seems every weekend in the summer there is a fatality boating related. It is hardly ever the boats fault. -
I wouldn't want to be experimenting too much. My "Adventure Tourism" addict Sister in Law can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Her latest "Adventure" was to ride a white horse, she specified white" on a beach. After the 3rd time she fell off the thing doing a modest trot the guide tapped out. She couldn't make it 100 feet up Machu Pichu.

I'm not a die hard smoked meat guy but am for fish. Those look lie Fish flavored candy I agree.
